Electric Company, The
"Hey, you guys". "Hey you guys" became the opening phrase in fifth and sixth season episodes. Rita Moreno played several characters on the series. These included the obnoxoius little girl, Pandora, and the frustrated director who couldn't get her actors to get the cue cards right. She also played Millie the Helper in first season episodes as an assistant to the milkman (Bill Cosby).

sitting. In first season episodes, Skip Hinnant played a boy who spent his days sitting in a chair and had an alleged girlfriend named Naomi(Judy Graubart).

all. The animation "2001: A Space Oddyssey" would show an eruption and a blended word would come out.
Spidey Meets The Spoiler. Spider-Man joined the series in the fourth season and was played by Danny Seagren. In this first episode, The Spoiler (Skip Hinnant) spoiled someone's lunch by making a rubber glove sandwich. He also put a No Dogs Allowed sign on a hydrant, spoiling a canine's walk. He tossed a cake, spoiled it and went up to a woman eating ice cream and crushed it. He then had a showdown with Spider-Man, but our hero stopped him, though not before pushing him into a wall and causing it to collapse.
In a casket. Morgan Freeman played Dracula in several episodes. In this skit, he was signing about the benefits of bathing in caskets.
green grapes. jim Boyd played Lord Gregory (Greg). He was having dinner with his companions in a posh restauraunt when he was offered some grapes. Instead of taking a handful, he grabbed the entire bunch and wolfed them all down. His companions were disgusted and walked out while an oblivious and gluttonous Greg continued to hog the grapes.
Jim Boyd. Jim Boyd played the voice of Loralei, the chicken in the first season. He also called in as Crank to make "crank calls". He was not seen until the second season, however. Luis Avalos joined the cast in the second season to replace Bill Cosby, who left the show. Hattie Winston signed on in the third season and succeeded Lee Chamberlain.
Chocolate. Bill Cosby was a cast member of "The Electric Company" in the first season. He left the series to pursue other interests.
Unday. Vi (Lee Chamberlain) was a diner owner who decided she wanted to have one day to herself where she would lay in bed and not think about her worries.
All of these (Big Bird, Grover, Oscar). Big Bird came into decoder Fargo North's office with a note he accidentally tore up. Oscar sang a duet with J. Arthur Crank. Grover went into Vi's diner asking for directions to get home to that famous street.
"Ain't life beautiful". Skip Hinnant was crooning about his love for a girl named Randy (June Angela), with Jim Boyd and Morgan Freeman backing him.
"Right On". Tom Lehrer wrote many songs for this series. "The Silent E Song" was one of the most popular. It stressed how it can changed words instantly, like man to mane, twin to twine or Sam to same.

At a ball park. The Wall was a high school student whose chemistry experiment exploded and threw him into a wall. It collapsed on him and turned him into an evil wall. Spider-Man spent his day off at the ball park cheering on his favorite Mets player, Gumbo Grace Ivy (Skip Hinnant). The Wall (Jim Boyd) snuck up on him and knocked him out, giving the other team the lead. Spider-Man intervened and stopped him but the umpire (Morgan Freeman), berated him for going out in the field when it was restricted to ball players, instead of thanking him. Our hero also got his scorecard confiscated and was threatened with a $50 fine.
Why is the sky blue. This was another song by The Short Circus. They were asking a bunch of silly, if not, rhetorical, questions.
June Angela. The original Short Circus consisted of June Angela, Irene Cara, Douglas Grant, Stephen Gustafson and Melanie Henderson. Irene Cara left the show after the first season and succeeded by Denise Nickerson. Douglas Grant and Denise Nickerson were replaced in the third season by Gregg Burge and Bayn Johnson. In the fifth season, Gustafson, Henderson, Burge and Johnson were succeeded by Todd Graff, Rodney Lewis, Janina Mathews and Rejane Magloire.
She puts bananas in her ears. Hattie Winston was in a skit where she heard weird noises in the middle of the night. She had recently moved to the city and had a hard time sleeping because of the noise. What she shuld've done was call the police or complain to her landlord.
He ends up with a tree. Majewski, Klazewski and Patterewski were three men who loved to ski. Klazewski had a fetish for skiing in the middle of the slope and falling in trees. Skip Hinnant played Majewski, Jim Boyd played Patterewski and Luis Avalos played the hapless Klazewski.
A banana. Paul was a gorilla played by Jim Boyd. In this skit, several characters were down at the beach, such as Easy Reader (Morgan Freeman) and Fargo North (Skip Hinnant). They were putting several oa words on top of a painting of a hole, such as a boat, goat, soap, a roast and a toad. Along came Paul who put a babana on and spoiled everyone's fun.
Duane. Gregg Burge joined the cast in the third season, along with Bayn Johnson, as a member of the Short circus. That was a group of kids who would sing and play in many skits. Burge played Duane, who appeared in a skit as a basketball expert.

He bent his wand. "The Adventures of Letterman" was an animation about the evil Spellbinder who waves a wand to change words around and cause trouble while Letterman comes to the rescue. In this episode, Letterman packed up his trunk for a vacation. The Spellbinder changed the word trunk to shrunk. Letterman shrunk to the size of a pea before changing the word to hunk and getting back to normal.
He doesn't have any brakes. In this skit, Skip Hinnant is the luckless owner of a run down horse named Bruce. He sings a song about his disdain for the unfortunate mammal.

You Oughtta TryTwo. Jim Boyd was playing a dual role as indentical twins who came down with the flu. They were singing about if life is bad enough for one person, it would be worse for two.
The students were always pulling pranks on him. Jim Boyd played Mr. Prescott, principal of P.S. 8 and A Half. He played several practical jokes on the students, such as stuffing jumping giraffes in their books, substituting chocolate pie with mud and gluing phones on the receiver. This was in revenge for previous pranks played on him. He decided don't get mad, get even.
