Seven. The series ran for seven seasons (1982-1989) and 180 episodes were aired during that span. I know that by reading the above dates (1982-1989) it appears that the series ran for eight seasons not seven, but this is how it works:
First Season: 1982-1983; Second Season: 1983-1984; Third Season: 1984-1985; Fourth Season: 1985-1986; Fifth Season: 1986-87; Sixth Season: 1987-1988 and Seventh Season: 1988-1989
Skippy. The correct answer is Skippy, who was played by Marc Price.
Porky was a pig and Potsie was a character on the tv series "Happy Days".

A kangaroo. The mascot was the kangaroo, the other animals did not appear in the series.
Michael Gross. Michael Gross played Steven Keaton. Michael Landon played many roles including Charles in "Little House on the Prairie" and Little Joe in Bonanza".

Detroit Tigers. The Detroit Tigers actually did defeat the San Diego Padres in the 1984 World Series.
Alex and Steven rejoiced as they watched the Tigers win, but their joy ended abruptly when Steven received a phone call informing him that his father had passed away.

Nick. The character Nick Moore, was played by Scott Valentine, had a short-lived show (just the pilot aired) titled "The Art of Being Nick" in 1986 and also starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Red. Justine Bateman (Mallory) now has her own fashion design business, "Justine Bateman Designs", and designs under the brand name "Bad Baby Boy".

Arlene. Arlene only appeared in one episode of the show.
Scrapper. Although in an earlier episode, Steven says that Mallory is allergic to dogs, Nick brings his dog over to the Keaton house in a later episode, and Mallory doesn't seem to be allergic at all.
John Putch, the guy who played the boyfriend of the girl who Alex lost his virginity to in the "Summer Of 82" episode, and who also played in the "Birthday Boy" episode, is the son of a famous actress from a hugely popular 1970's tv show. Jean Stapleton, "All In The Family". John Putch is the son of Jean Stapleton, the woman who played the loveable dingbat, Edith Bunker on "All In The Family." John also had a brief cameo on "All In The Family" as a boy scout who noticed a Swastika painted on the Bunkers' front door. Definitely one of the show's most powerful episodes!
