Barbara. Don's first wife was Alf Stewarts' sister, Barbara, and mother to Rebbecca and the late Alan.
Les Hill. Alf and Ailsa's foster son, Blake, was played by Les Hill.
Emma. The not-so-famous sister of Kylie played Alf and Ailsa's foster daughter Emma.
Donald. Bobby was a result of Donald Fisher's affair with his sister-in-law.
In a boating accident. Bobby tragically died while on a boating trip with Sam and Greg.
Ben. Carly married hot-tempered mechanic Ben.
Vannessa Downing. Thrice married Super-mum Pippa was played by Vanessa Downing.
Lara. Although his loves included Shannon and Selina, it was Lara who truly touched his heart, her tragic death turning him to drink.
Selina Roberts. Tempany played Selina, girlfriend of Jessie and foster daughter of Irene.
Flash Flood. Although Summer Bay has experienced all the above, Pippa's beloved second husband was killed while trying to save Sam from a flash flood.
Christopher. Although having children was risking her own life, she realised having children was first husband Tom's dream, and so she she took the risk and had son Christopher.
An earthquake struck, causing his shop to fall down around him. Hot-headed Alf's 'dodgy ticker' gave him a shock as the result of an earthquake, which caused his store to fall down.
She was pregnant. Teenaged Sophie became pregnant and was so frightened she ran away from home, only to be bought back by Adam to a very worried Pippa.
A marine engineer. Pippa's screen husband and real-life husband ran a boat engine building and repair company down at the beach.
Irene. Good-hearted mum and foster mum Irene Roberts made the decision to have a child for her daughter Finlay after her only daughter was told she had no chance of ever conceiving.
John Morris. John Morris was not a main cast member on the show as his character Philip Matheson was killed off after a few months.
Monkey Jam. Before 'Monkey Jam' Aaron was in a band with Joey Rainbow and Tom Nash and they were managed by Vinnie Patterson. They called themselves the 'Chick Magnets'. Aaron returned to the Bay a few months after leaving with a drug problem. Alf and Ailsa helped Aaron, before he left once again with 'Monkey Jam'.
Alan. Alan died of a brain aneurism, Bobby was killed in a boating accident and Baby Byron died of leukaemia before his first birthday. Rebecca moved away from Summer Bay with her husband Travis Nash and last we heard she had given birth.
Carrington Ranges. Pippa lost two husbands during her time in Summer Bay. Her first husband Tom Fletcher died of a heart attack while he was driving his car and her second husband Michael Ross drowned during a flash flood.
schizophrenia. Joey left Summer Bay in 1999 to travel around Australia and tell people about the effects of schizophrenia.
Roxy Miller. When Roxy discovered she had breast cancer, the doctors told her she must spend Christmas Day in hospital, so her boyfriend, Rob, cooked a Christmas feast on Christmas Eve to try and make up for this.
Damien Roberts. Despite having the same surname, Selina and Damien are not actually related. Damien is Irene's son and Irene was Selina's foster mother.
Dieter Brummer. Dieter played the role of Shane for four years before he was killed off and in that time Shane had some of the most interesting storylines on the show, including a motorcycle accident, a hostage situation, a plane crash and being stranded at sea. After 'Home And Away' Dieter went on to play Dave in 'Crash Palace'.
Rian McLean. The role of Chris Fletcher was played by three actors, Rian McLean was the third person and Shaun Wood was the second person to play him between 1991 and 1998. When Rian McLean played Chris in 2003, Chris was a teenager struggling with the fact that he was gay.
four. The first two actresses played Rebecca in the early years of the show. Belinda Emmett played the part between 1996 and 1999, but there was another actress to play her for a few episodes when Belinda Emmett was unwell.
'Nip/Tuck'. Julian also had a starring role in cult US show 'Charmed', alongside Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty and Rose McGowan.
Whitsundays. Don left after his engagement to June Reynalds in 2003. As far as we know they lived happily after, but viewers weren't pleased to see the much loved character leave and Norman Coburn's final episode was a dramatic one and quite emotional, because Norman had dedicated over fifteen years of his life to the show.
Cameron Welsh. When Cameron left his role of Mitch McColl behind in 2001 he began working behind the scenes as a director.
Kane Phillips. Kane and Kirsty were forced to run away when Kirsty's parents found out about the relationship.
He wrote 'will you marry me?' on the blackboard. This was the last resort for Flynn after several unsuccessful attempts.
His dad has a heart attack. Mr Paulos has the heart attack after Alex and Dimitri start to argue.
