Doing It. Melvin Burgess wrote other books like "An Angel for May" and "Junk". He was born on April 25, 1954 in England. He married Judith and has two children with her.

You Must be Trippin'. This episode was about the class ski trip that the sophomore had on their minds all week. Ben and Sue plan to go on the trip without Mr. Miller finding out but things don't go as planned when Mr. Miller becomes a supervisor on the trip. Dino tries to get Jackie's attention while other girls try to hit on him. Jonathan and Deb break up and Jonathan has trouble moving on.

Dino, Ben, and Jonathan. The three main characters are Dino Whitman, Ben Conner, and Jonathan Fields. Sean Faris played Dino Whitman. Sean has also appeared in the movie, "Sleepover" (2004). Jon Foster played Ben Conner. Jon has also appeared in the movies, "Thirteen Days" (2000) and "Life as a House" (2001). Chris Lowell played Jonathan Fields. "Life As We Know It" is Chris's only major acting experience.
His hockey coach. Dino was coming home one day when he caught his mom having an affair. His mom, Annie (Lisa Darr), and his coach, Dave Scott (Martin Cummins), were in Dino's house when Dino saw them. This caused the separation of Dino's parents and also caused Dino to quit hockey, even though he loved it and was very good at it. In one episode, Dino's father, Michael (D.B. Sweeney), punches Dave Scott because he had helped destroy his family.
Ben. Ben and Miss Young (Marguerite Moreau) had an affair throughout most of the season. It ended when Ben saw that Miss Young was getting jealous of Sue, who was starring in the school play with Ben. Miss Young even gave Sue a bad grade on a good paper just because Sue was spending time with Ben. Sue told her father about it and Miss Young was fired.
Alateen/ Al-Anon. Jackie decided to go to Alateen because her father's alcoholism was destroying her family. Jackie mostly kept her family problems to herself because she didn't want people's sympathy. Jackie went to Alateen while she was broken up with Dino, and she met Matt Gleason (Joshua Close). Matt thought Jackie didn't want people to see them together in public because she was popular and he wasn't, but it was really because she didn't want people to find out about her dad.
Zoe. Dino hooked up with Zoe while he was broken up with Jackie. They hung out for a while until Dino decided to break it off with her. Zoe turned a little psychotic and decided to make Dino pay for hurting her. When Dino and Jonathan got a job at a clothing store, Zoe convinced her friend who worked there to stuff Dino's backpack with clothes so he would get fired.
Sue. Ben and Sue became close while they were rehearsing for their school play, "Romeo and Juliet". They didn't like each other at first, but they soon grew to be friends and then developed a relationship. Sue's father didn't approve of Ben because of his relationship with Miss Young, and he didn't allow Sue to see him.
13. Although it was a very fresh and good show, "Life As We Know It" was cancelled after only 11 episodes. The main factor for its cancellation was low ratings, since the show was moved to the same time slot as "The O.C.".
