|
Jack Jones. The theme song 'The Love Boat' appears on Jack's album, 'Nobody Does It Better'. 'The Love Boat' is the first song on his album on side one. This cute song was a number one hit for him.
C. Fox Williams. I believe he did a fantastic job with this song. While trying to write the lyrics, Williams had a look around the Princess Cruise Lines (which is the actual setting for 'The Love Boat').
All information about the lyrics, including who wrote them can be found at www.sitcomsonline.com
Which famous female entertainer performed 'The Love Boat' from 1985 to 1986? | 'The Love Boat'
|
Dionne Warwick. Dionne has a terrific voice. I don't believe that they could have picked anyone better to succeed Jack Jones.
1977. This awesome show ran from 1977 until 1986. They really should show this classic series on 'TVland'.
Gavin MacLeod. Gavin's real name is Allan See. His father was a Chippewa Native American and owned a gas station. Gavin (Allan) was born on February 28, 1930 in Mount Kisco, New York. Although Gavin is a famous actor, he is most noted for his portrayal of Captain Merrill Stubing.
Burl 'Gopher' Smith . Burl 'Gopher' Smith, was a treasure to have as part of the crew. Gopher, as he was referred to by his friends, was always looking for love. He usually made all the wrong choices. However, he was best friend to most every crew member. Way to go Gopher!
Fred Grandy. When 'The Love Boat' came to an end, Fred decided to go into politics. As a politician, he took strong stances on 'Gay Rights'. Fred served two terms in Congress. He chose not to run for re-election, but instead decided to run in the Iowa primary race for Governor against three term Governor, Terry Branstad. Fred lost the race. Too bad for Fred! Gopher would have mad an awesome Governor!
Dr Adam Bricker . Dr. Adam Bricker, was a ladies man or so he thought. Doc, as his friends on board ship called him, was the product of too many marriages and divorces. Doc was usually seen trying to flirt with most single women that came on board the ship. Sometimes though, much to his own dismay, he would flirt with women that were married.
Bernie Kopell. Bernie Kopell was born in New York City on June 21, 1933. He is an excellent actor, who has guest starred in several television shows. He played Conrad Siegfried in 'Get Smart'. He portrayed Jerry Bauman, a neighbor of Ann's in 'That Girl', and played many roles on 'Bewitched'. His most memorable is that of a 100 year old apothecary. His specialty is accents and dialects, he has no problems with Russian, German, Mexican and all others without any problems.
Isaac Washington. Isaac was one awesome bartender. He always gave great advice, at least he thought he did. He had a dazzling smile. Did you ever notice though that Isaac's tip cup was usually empty? Gee wonder why? Everyone always got free drinks, you never once saw a guest paying for a drink. They could have given him at least a tip. Poor Isaac. In my opinion I think he was one of the best characters on the show.
Ted Lange. Ted Lange is a great actor. Ted was trained in the classical theater, specifically Shakespeare. The role of Isaac Washington, was hard for him to live down. He has since kept busy acting and coaching acting students at Virginia's Radford University. He as starred in productions on stage and directed. Ted directed the television series 'Starman' in 1986.

Vicki . Actress Jill Whelan portrayed Captain Stubing's daughter, Vicki. The only mention of her mother was that she was a showgirl. Vicki appeared as Stubing's daughter from 1979 to 1984. The role of Vicki was created to bring more 'Kid Appeal' to the show, producer Aaron Spelling thought it was needed to boost ratings.
Julie McCoy. Actress Lauren Tewes, portrayed the ship's cruise director, Julie McCoy, from 1977 to 1984. Julie was so perky that everyone seemed to like her. She was never without an escort to any function on board the ship. Lauren Tewes left 'The Love Boat' in 1984. The part of the cruise director, was then played by Pat Klous. Pat's character, Judy McCoy, was the cousin of Julie McCoy. This show was a favorite of mine. Thanks for taking this quiz. I hope that you had as much fun taking it, as I had creating it. :)
