Moonlight
No. Coraline's refusal to come clean on her cure for vampirism lead me to believe she hadn't actually found one. Josef had stayed true to his belief there as no cure, and since he'd be around for 400 years I tended to trust that. Mick wanted to be human again so badly that he refused to trust Josef. He saw Coraline as human, so he trusted that instead. While in the hospital, Coraline was experiencing a raging infection from her stake wound. The staff was all puzzled as to why her body temperature kept lowering during the infection. We were not left will all the answers at the end of the episode, so I assume one side affect from her vampire reversal may be that another human death reverses her yet again. When she told the nurse she was dying, Coraline's eyes went yellow and her fangs came out. At the end of the episode, she fled the hospital, I assume as a full vampire once again. We'll have to wait and see..
Sara's father. He sent a mercenary to Los Angeles to kill a man named Charles, but who was now Josef Konstantin. Beth used a contact from the news show to find out the man's name. That info led back to John Whitley, Sara's 93 year old father. Played by Ian Abercrombie, who was 71 at the time of filming, Sara's father did not know what happened to his daughter until two years prior. His wife had hid Sara's dairy from him, but he found it after her death. It took him two years to locate Josef.
1955. Sara and Josef fell in love when he lived in New York. He thought he'd kept his vampire secret from her, but she somehow realized what he was. She was clear to him, and in her diary, that she did not care what he was. Sara begged him to turn her for months, and he finally gave in. Sadly, while she turned into a vampire, she never awoke. She remained in a coma from 1955 forward, and Josef had maintained her care for the entire time. She had blood fed to her via intravenous catheter to keep her alive. She looked very peaceful. Now we could see why he was so against Mick and Beth as a couple.
Beth staked her. Though Josef had assured Mick that no cure for vampirism existed, Coraline had somehow made herself human and was calling herself Morgan. She finally admitted it to Mick, but Beth didn't get the memo. She came into Mick's place and when she saw a freshly showered Coraline, she staked her. I am sure Beth felt as thought this woman was trying to steal Mick from her, in an emotional sense. She was probably correct, as her arrival stopped Mick from going too far with with his ex-wife. Beth didn't kill Coraline/Morgan, as we found out in the following episode.
Morgan. Coraline was back, as I had predicted! Mick believed he'd killed her the night he saved Beth. When Morgan, a free lance photographer showed up in town, Mick added the clues that pointed to her being Coraline. The only problem with his theory was that neither he nor Josef detected anything other than humanity on her. They didn't feel like she was a vampire, but Mick thought she had to have found a cure for vampirism. Josef stated that there was no cure for it, and that something else had to be the explanation. In the end, Mick tore her blouse to reveal Coraline's unique tattoo, but it was not there! Of course, the audience was able to see that she did have that tattoo after all, and covered it was a lot of makeup. The tattoo was a fleur de lis, which means "flower of lily".
Buzzwire. 'Buzzwire' was modeled similar to the website 'TMZ', which basically stalked celebrities. In this case, 'Buzzwire' followed all high profile crime cases, instead of just celeb specific fascination. Beth was working a story in the series premier, and she met Mick in the process.
In the fourth episode, "Fever", Mick risked his existence to help save a witness for Beth's boyfriend, attorney Josh Lindsey. After the desert almost killed Mick, how did Beth save him? | Welcome to Mick's World- "Moonlight"

She allowed him to feed from her wrist. Leni Hayes had witnessed her arms dealer boss, Amir Fayed, execute her boyfriend. She'd been in protective custody until she inadvertently alerted Fayed to her whereabouts when she called his daughter. She had been the girl's nanny and wanted to wish her happy birthday. The call was traced to her safe house, where she had to flee. After that, she didn't want to return to testify, as she feared for the life of her unborn baby. She and Mick ended up walking several miles in the desert, which practically killed Mick. He had her contact Beth, who came in time to save Mick. The moment was very intimate, and forged an even tighter bond.
Joss and company made Buffy wait until the end of season three to save Angel in this way on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". That act was even sexier, as Angel fed from Buffy's throat and practically drained her. I mean, if you're into that.
Josef Kostan. Mick mentioned that Josef was around 400 years old in the pilot episode. To say Josef was less sympathetic than Mick would be an understatement. Josef's smart and experienced, sure, but he's also more ruthless than our hero of mixed emotions, Mick St. John. In episode seven, "The Ringer", Josef revealed that he had been born in 1599, making him 408 years old in 2007. We did find out later that there was more to Josef than his cold exterior. Josef is played by cutie Jason Dohring. Jason Dohring may be best known for his role as Logan Echolls on three seasons of "Veronica Mars".
In the first episode, Mick was reunited with a female from his past, Beth Turner. Is it true that Mick had saved Beth's life when she was small child? | Welcome to Mick's World- "Moonlight"
|
Yes. Beth's mother asked Mick for help 22 years prior, in 1985. Her daughter had gone missing and Mick went in search of her. He found her in the clutches of the vampire who'd sired him- his ex-wife Coraline. He fought Coraline, scooped Beth up, and set the place on fire. Coraline is thought/portrayed to have died in that event, but somehow I doubted it. On the series "Angel", about a different vampire detective, he also thought his sire was dead by his own hand. But in true writer torment fashion, Darla reappeared at the end of season one, resurrected by evil lawyers. I knew we'd see Coraline again...
Sophia Myles plays the adult Beth Turner. She played Isolde in the film "Tristan and Isolde", was born in England in 1980 and looks and sounds so much like actress Kate Winslet that I constantly expect her to call Mick the name Jack (from "Titanic").
Yes. The episode's events made Beth realize she wasn't ready for life as a vampire. She told Mick that she knew at some point she'd have to make a choice about becoming a vampire or growing old, and that she never wanted to have to choose. Mick left the apartment and Beth closed the door behind him. Both of them cried out their pain, and then Mick decided he couldn't give up on Beth. He came back to her and told her he loved her, and that was what mattered. Emma told Beth that she remembered exactly what Jackson was wearing the first time she saw him. So, she asked Mick if he remembered what she had on in the pilot episode. He recalled every detail, and the couple kissed passionately, but sweetly. The series ended with Beth's door closing and a fade to black as credits began to roll. It was sad to read that CBS had elected not to renew "Moonlight" for a second season.
his agent, Emma Monaghan. When Emma found out that Dominick was also involved with the sexy vampire Lisa, she lost control of herself and snapped his neck. He was found by Josef's human companion Simone in an athletic tub. Emma and Jackson had been together for over 150 years. She was turned on a ship coming to America and met Jackson when he was a human boxer name Ewan. He asked her to make him a vampire, and the two had been together every since that time. Emma was taken into custody and she threatened to expose the vampire community if Mick did not break her out of jail.
basketball. His college number was being retired in a ceremony that Josef was involved in, and Mick attended it with Beth. Beth learned that Dominick's agents were vampires who'd been together for 150 years.
he wanted them to face their fears. Mick was suspicious that a vampire was taking the children, but it was just a mentally troubled human man. He bricked the last victim up in his basement, but Mick saved the boy. Ken committed suicide before he could be arrested.
Jason Abbott- movie producer. When last seen by Mick, Tierney was fine. She'd had a small argument with her boyfriend, and he'd accused her of keeping secrets. He later revealed to Mick that she'd paid Dean Foster $50,000 to keep quiet about something he knew. Dean was a paparazzo who made a bigger living blackmailing people than he did with the pictures he took. Jason killed Tierney aboard the Queen Mary, which was docked in California. He hit her over the head with an antique anchor and drug her body out and pushed it overboard. He needed the insurance from the movie closing to pay off the investors. He'd wasted their money before production had even begun, and they were threatening to kill him if he didn't pay it back. At the end of the episode, Dean Foster was killed by two other paparazzis. This death was set up by Beth and Josef in order to protect Mick's identity.
Greg Pitts played Grant Lewis, Beth's new boss. She quit at the end of the episode to protect Mick and because the magazine had lost all integrity without Maureen.
Back from an extended break, "Moonlight" returned in 2008 with a heartbreaking episode called "Love Lasts Forever". Who died, leaving Beth tortured by guilt and sadness? | Welcome to Mick's World Pt. 2- "Moonlight"
|
Josh, her fiance. Josh was working on a high profile cartel case. The man he was after held a lot of power and was known for killing off the family members of witnesses if they talked. Josh decided to quit when Beth was threatened, but she urged him not to cave in under the pressure. Extensive protection was placed around Beth, including Mick, whom Josh has asked to look over her. In a slight change of tact, the mobster had Josh scooped up outside of Beth's safe house. He was taken in the trunk of a car to be execute or tortured, or both. Beth and Mick used the GPS in Josh's cellular phone to track his location and found him in time to save him. Unfortunately, one of the abductors was not rendered unconscious by Mick, and shot Josh several times through the back seat of the car. Despite a valiant effort on Mick's part to save Josh, he passed away from his wounds. Beth begged Mick to turn Josh in order to save him, but Mick refused, stating that was not saving him, but cursing him.
Jordan Belfi played Beth's boyfriend and fiance, Josh Lindsey.

Shannyn Sossamon. It is revealed that years ago Coraline kidnapped Beth as a wedding present for Mick. He of course didn't approve of Coraline's horrible actions, so he helped Beth escape and destroyed (or so he thought) Coraline.
