She is her aunt. Nanette Fabray changed the spelling of her name early in her career. Shelley Fabares has been married to Mike Farrell of "M.A.S.H." fame, since 1984.
Nanette Fabray. Whitney Blake played the mom on "Hazel". She is, however, one of the creators for "One Day at a Time". Barbara Billingsley was the mom on "Leave it to Beaver". Jane Wyatt played the mother on "Father Knows Best".

Mark Hamill. Mark Hamill played Schneider's nephew in an episode that aired on Nov. 30, 1976, just 6 months before "Star Wars" was released.
Corey Feldman. Corey Feldman played his nephew before his rise to stardom in such movies as "The Goonies", "Stand By Me", and "The Lost Boys".
He went to live in Florida to raise his niece and nephew.. The second to last episode of the series was when Ann left for London. The last episode dealt with Schneider's brother dying and Schneider trying to find someone to raise his niece and nephew. He ends up staying and raising them himself. I believe they were going to make a spin-off from this episode, but it never happened.
She took a job in London.. She was offered a great job in London and Sam went with her.
Susan Richardson. Susan's character walked around in a towel and played the piano in the nude, until Barbara put a stop to it.
He was his father.. They met when Sam came into town after the wedding and they all went to dinner. Apparently, they hit it off very well. Barbara walked in on them the next morning.
Howard Hesseman. Howard Hesseman is best known for his role as Johnny Fever in "WKRP in Cincinnati". Ron Rifkin played Nick Handris, a business partner and love interest of Ann's. His character died at the beginning of the 1981 season. Richard Masur played Ann's lawyer and love interest in the first 2 seasons before his character moved to California.

Christopher Knight and Eve Plumb. Eve Plumb played Melissa in "Lovers and Other Parents" that aired Nov. 7, 1982. Christopher Knight played Pete in the episode "Barbara's Emergence" that aired Oct. 26, 1976.
Boyd Gaines and Scott Colomby. Boyd Gaines played the assistant gym teacher. Scott Colomby played one of the boys who helped trash "Porkys".
Nanette Fabray. Nanette Fabray, born in 1920, played the recurring role of Katherine Romano from 1979-1984. Nanette won several Emmy Awards for her performance in the TV comedy "Caesar's Hour" (1954-1957).
John Hillerman. John Hillerman, born in 1932, played the recurring role of Mr. Connors, Ann Romano's boss, from 1976-1980. Mr. Hillerman is best known for his role as Jonathan Higgins in the TV show "Magnum, P.I." (1980-1988).
Howard Hesseman. Howard Hesseman, born in 1940, played Sam Royer, father-in-law of Barbara who later marries Ann Romano. Howard is best remembered as radio disc jockey Johnny Fever in the TV show "WKRP in Cincinnati" (1978-1982) and teacher Charlie Moore in "Head of the Class" (1986-1991).
Shelley Fabares. Shelley Fabares, born in 1944, played Francine Webster from 1978-1984. Francine was Ann Romano's one time nemesis, later becoming her business partner. Shelley is best known for her roles in "The Donna Reed Show" (1958-1966) and "Coach" (1989-1997). Ms. Fabares had a number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1962 called "Johnny Angel".
Boyd Gaines. Boyd Gaines, born in 1953, played Barbara's dentist husband from 1981-1984. Boyd is also an accomplished Broadway actor winning numerous Tony Awards. He was also featured in the movies "Porky's" (1982) and "Heartbreak Ridge" (1986).
Michael Lembeck. Michael Lembeck, born in 1948, played the role of Max from 1979-1984. Michael directed many episodes of the TV show "Friends" (1994-2004) and won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Directing for a Comedy Series for the episode "The One After The Superbowl" in 1996.
Pat Harrington, Jr.. Pat Harrington, Jr., born in 1929, played the role of Dwayne Schneider, the superintendent of Ann Romano's apartment building. His character would often walk into Anne's apartment without knocking. Mr. Harrington won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1984.
Mackenzie Phillips. Mackenzie Phillips, born in 1959, is best known for playing the role of Julie Cooper, eldest child of Ann Romano. She played the role off and on from 1975-1982 due to her addiction to drugs and alcohol. Mackenzie was featured in the movie "American Graffiti" (1973) at the age of 14 for which she won critical acclaim. She is the daughter of John Phillips of the musical group, The Mamas and the Papas.
Valerie Bertinelli. Valerie Bertinelli, born in 1960, started playing the part of Barbara Cooper when she was 15 in 1975. Valerie has starred in numerous TV movies such as "I'll Take Manhattan" (1987) and "Two Mothers for Zachary" (1996). She was married to rock musician Eddie Van Halen from 1981-2007.
Bonnie Franklin. Bonnie Franklin, born in 1944, played Ann Romano from 1975-1984. Ann and her two teenage daughters move to Indianapolis to start a new life. Ann changes her last name back to her maiden name of Romano. She remarries in the eighth season of the show to Sam Royer. Ms. Franklin was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical for her role in the Broadway show, "Applause".
