 Red Green Show

Salamander Lodge . Even Harold was let into Salamander Lodge!
Steve Smith. Steve Smith was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1945 and is a comedy writer and actor. He is best known for his role as Red Green, but has also starred in the comedy show "Smith and Smith" with his wife, Morag. Steve and Morag have also written for shows such as "Me & Max" and "The Comedy Mill". "The Red Green Show" ran from 1991 to 2006 and aired in Canada and the United States.
Red and green suspenders. In every episode, Red Green is seen wearing red and green suspenders over a plaid, flannel shirt. He also usually wears a fishing cap.
The Possum Lodge. Red Green is the president of "The Possum Lodge" which is a fictional mens club. The members gather to give advice and demonstrations on things such as mechanics, fishing, camping, women and various repair work, but things usually turn out worse in the end. The Possum Lodge is located on Possum Lake, Ontario, Canada.
Bernice and Harold. Bernice Green is Red's wife. Red talks about her a lot, but the only part of her that was ever seen in the show, was her arm coming out from behind a door.
Harold Green, played by Patrick McKenna, is Red's nephew. Harold is the most intelligent one at the lodge, but is not seen that way by the other members, including Red. He is very good with computers and technology and is a typical nerd, wearing thick glasses, too short pants and has an overbite.

Handy. "If women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy." Red Green uses this philosophy in the "Handyman's Corner" segment of the show. He gives "useful" tips on things such as how to turn a refrigerator into a dishwasher, a hot water tank into a submarine, how to make an air hockey game out of clothes dryers and more. These tasks typically involve "the handyman's secret weapon".
Duct tape. Red Green considers duct tape the answer to almost every problem, including a solution to Quebec separatism, using it to tape the borders. I remember one episode called "No Duct Tape", where they thought they were out of duct tape at the Possum Lodge. There was a roll of it in an emergency, glass case. They finally broke the case, but the duct tape was so old, that it crumbled. After the case was broken, they found a huge supply in the attic that they had forgotten about. Red Green is 3M Company's "Ambassador of Scotch Duct Tape".

Ka Boom. Famous Canadian actor Graham Greene, plays Edgar K.B. Montrose on the "Red Green Show". His favorite phrase is "Ka Boom!", which is what is rumored to be what his initials stand for. Edgar much prefers using explosives over duct tape to solve problems, however he does blame the use of explosives for his hearing loss and says "What doesn't kill you, makes you hard of hearing." His favorite movie is "Bridge on the River Kwai", because he loves the scene where the bridge blows up.

"I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.". "The Man's Prayer" is usually recited immediately after "The Possum Lodge" oath at Possum Lodge meetings. In the last episode of "The Red Green Show", the prayer was changed to "I'm a man, but I changed, because I had to. Oh, well."
"Keep your stick on the ice.". This is the line Red Green always uses at the end of the show. It is his piece of life advice, a message to Bernice and his way of saying "thanks and good night."
