 Salem's Lot Miniseries
Ximico. Ximico is located in Guatemala. In the book they were staying in Los Zapatos.
David Soul. David Soul also played in the TV series, 'Starsky and Hutch'. Marc Singer was in the mini series 'V', Richard Hatch was in 'Battle Star Galactica' and James Gandolfini is Tony Soprano.
Mears. His full name is Benjamin Mears. You hear that later when the constable runs a background check on him. In the book Ben and Mark both have black hair, in the movie they are both blonde.
Tobe Hooper. He also directed "Poltergeist".

6. You see the number displayed a few times. Once right off after Eva has explained to Ben the rules and again when Ben gets a early morning phone call from Jason Burke.
Barlow and Straker Fine Antiques. The sign is displayed on the side of the building and can be seen from across the street at Crockett Realty.
Bonnie Sawyer. This is kind of a tricky one since Mike Ryerson later refers to her as 'Boom Boom Bonnie'. In the book Bonnie is having an affair with a younger man, but it is not Larry Crockett.

yellow. It is a blue small blue sign with yellow letters. Later in the movie a white sign with red letters replaces it stating, 'Opening Soon'.
Mike and Ned. Mr. Straker asks Larry Crockett to arrange for the transport. He hires Cullen Sawyer in hopes of having some time alone with Cullen's wife, Boom Boom Bonnie, who is also Larry's secretary. Cullen then hands the task over to Mike Ryerson and Ned Tebbets for $50 so he can catch Bonnie and Larry in the act. Buffy Summers had not even been born when this movie was made.
Susan's parents' house. Here you get to meet another key player, Susan's father, Dr. Norton. In the book Bill Norton is not a doctor. The doctor character is James Cody. Ben does meet his former teacher, Jason Burke, in Del's later in the movie.

Bonnie. There were an interesting number of Bonnies in association with this movie!
Ralphie Glick. Danny and Ralphie were separated in the woods on their way home from Mark's house. Ralphie never made it home, but later Danny shows up stumbling and disoriented. In the book we never know for sure what did happen to Ralphie, but in the movie he is the first one made a vampire. Casper is that 'friendly' ghost you always hear about!
2. Ralphie visits Danny twice. One time he comes to his window at home and the other to the window at the hospital.
18. 'He killed 18 men all asking 'What did he do?' Gillespie jokes to Weasel as he tries to get Weasel to spy on Ben at Eva's.

4. He said that the keys to all four where to be left on the basement table. That never happened. Mike and Ned heard a nose in the house, and ran frightened from the cellar. Ned threw the padlocks and chains down into the cellar, but locked nothing.
gravedigger/grounds keeper. He was the grounds keeper for the Harmony Hill Cemetery.
Jason Burke. Jason Burke was the junior high Drama teacher that inspired Ben to become a writer. In the book Jason and Ben meet for the first time when Ben comes back to Salem's Lot. I don't think George Clooney would have been too receptive to old Mike! Jimmy Cody was the doctor in the book, instead of Susan Norton's father.
Cullen and Bonnie. After catching Bonnie and Larry together in bed, Cullen scares Larry with his shotgun. Larry runs out of the house into the arms of a mysterious assailant. The next day you see Cullen and Bonnie leaving town. Was Eddie Murphy in Salem's Lot that day?
pernicious anemia. Anemia huh? Yes, I think a vampire could cause that!
Ben and Mark. Only Ben Mears and young Mark Petrie escape the town at the end of the movie. In the novel they return to Salem's Lot to take care of unfinished business, but in the movie Susan finds then in Ximico. Susan the vampire is taken care of before they ever leave Salem's Lot, in the book.
glowing Holy Water. That one should be pretty easy. Mark and Ben see the bottle of Holy Water glow at the beginning and end of the movie.
37. After they both fall to the street below, Father Callahan actually on the hood of a police car, they are rushed to the hospital. One of the paramedics tells the doctor, "Benjamin Mears, age 37.."

Jerusalem's Lot. Since Ben chased the priest and sent them both out the window, the doctor is not feeling much sympathy for him. After this scene we are sent back in time, to when Ben arrived back in Salem's Lot after many years away.
Waitress. Susan is waitressing in her family's cafe. Samantha plays Susan, a former Art student that had contacted Ben via email before his return to the Lot. Bonnie Bedelia's Susan was a teacher when Ben meets her by the lake.

No. In the 2004 movie the population in 1319 and the elevation is 2600 feet. When Ben rides past that sign in 1979, it stated the population was 2013 and the elevation 289.
Charlie Rhodes. The characters are a bit more accurate to the novel this time around. Charlie is the school bus driver and his dog is Champ. There was NO Charlie seen in the Hooper movie and Champ was Mike's dog. Mike was also a groundskeeper in that movie, and he owns the dump in TNT's remake. Mike does dig and cover graves with his backhoe in the newer movie, seen later in the movie.
3. Charlie sends the Glick brothers, Ralphie and Danny, off first. Then, Mark Petrie sounds off and makes him made. So, he kicks Mark off too. Mark flags downs a ride from someone, leaving his buddies to walk to school in the cold.
