She was drugged. A sandwich Lee ordered was doctored with a drug, but Amanda ate it and began to hallucinate. Amanda, while outside on a ledge on the hospital roof, said "Lee, you missed the cartwheel! Did you ever think that the reason we can’t fly is that we’re conditioned to think we can’t?" Later, Amanda got out a battery-powered hair dryer, and while looking for batteries, she said "Why isn't this thing loaded?" When she called Billy to talk to him about the Retzik case, she said "Bill, King here...". "Is this Amanda or John Wayne?"- Lee. Amanda got in the car with Retzik (thinking he worked with the Agency) and drove to a theatre. Amanda threatened Retzik with her hair dryer, saying, "Freeze or I'll splatter you all over this stage!" She turned on the hair dryer, and blew flour all over him. "Good work, partner. You won't be needing this anymore," Lee reassured as he took her hair dryer away after capturing Retzik. After they gave Amanda the antidote, she said, "You're all looking at me awfully strangely. I certainly hope I didn't do anything embarrassing." This is my favorite episode.
Bruce Boxleitner. Bruce Boxleitner, the actor who played Lee Stetson, was also on the shows "How The West Was Won", "Bring 'Em Back Alive", and "Babylon 5". Mel Stewart, the actor who played Billy Melrose, was on the show "All In The Family" and "Tabitha". Paul Stout played Phillip King, and Greg Morton played Jamie King.
At a train station. On the first episode of the series, when Amanda took her boyfriend to the train station, she bumped into a man (Lee) who desperately needed her help. When she reluctantly agreed to help, he gave her a package (containing classified information) and told her to give it to "the man in the red hat" on the train. When she got on the train, every passenger had a red hat on, so she took the package home with her. Lee had to track her down to get the package back. "Scarecrow, I think we may have found you a partner." - Billy Melrose
Amanda. Someone planted evidence pointed to Amanda being a Czecholoslovakian spy. Amanda showed up by accident with her date, Bryce Topping, who’s a lawyer, at a restaurant where Lee, Francine, and Billy were. A defector was shot down in the restaurant where the 4 of them were there, which was an alarming coincidence. The next day, Amanda said "I guess it’s the code words that make it seem something like a game. You know there’s someone at this Agency who just sits around and makes up these code words.", and mentioned the word "Spiderweb", the case name of the event that happened the night before when the man was shot. "Amanda isn’t even a trainee in the strict sense of the word" said Lee, which means she was never given a full-out security check. There was a big blank in her record from November 1982 to mid-January 1983. There was a $10,000 deposit to her account in February 1983 (there was an electrical fire in the kitchen and the money was from the insurance company). When the Agency figured out that Margaret Brock, the Agency secretary, was the mole, Amanda was let off the hook and apologized too. At the end of the episode, Amanda reminded them that there was still $50,000 in her account that was deposited when she was being framed. "If it was American money, well I'd give it right back. We certainly wouldn’t want to give the Russians all that money, would we?"- Amanda
Kate Jackson. Kate Jackson was also on the shows "The Rookies", "Charlie's Angels", and "Baby Boom". Beverly Garland, the actress who played Amanda's mother, Dotty West, was on "My Three Sons", "Remington Steele", and "Lois and Clark". Martha Smith, the actress who played Francine Desmond, was in the movie "Animal House". Jean Stapleton, the actress who played the loveable Emily Farnsworth, was also the unforgettable Edith Bunker on the show "All In The Family".
International Federal Film. IFF is the Agency's cover name.
A bullet hole. While Amanda was cleaning up her "new house", she made a comment on how she didn't like the furniture. When Lee told her it was government property and it had been used before, she said "I can tell. Cigarette burn?" and Lee said "No, bullet hole."
"Silent Night". Veteran spy Ted Rudolph, Amanda, Lee, and two KGB agents, Dmitri and Ivan, were stuck in Mr. Rudolph's cabin for the night because of a snow storm. To keep warm, they all had some Vodka. I think they drank a little too much, because even though Amanda, Lee and Ted were enemies of Dmitri and Ivan, they all seemed to have a pretty good time together!
"Dorothy". Paul Barnes, a.k.a. "The Wizard", was supected to be the killer of six female agents who were all somehow linked to Lee's past.
Francine Desmond. Martha Smith was also in the movie "Animal House."
At the train station. Amanda was taking her boyfriend Dean to the train station when she met Lee (Scarecrow).
