Pearl Bay. Port Deakin is the name of another mythical town near Pearl Bay.

The Pearl Bay Oyster. Max grew up in Pearl Bay, and moved back a little way into the series. He had a contract to write a novel, but was sacked by his publisher because he was four months past his deadline.
Port Deakin. Bob Jelly is always trying to rebuild the bridge, but because Pearl Bay is prone to natural disasters, his dreams are always short-lived.
Georgio Armani. When Laura's sister Trudi visited in "The fellowship of the suit," some of the suit owners fought over the suit. However, Diver Dan had only worn it once - to his wedding.
Sticky date pudding . Dan taught Laura to cook and left his cookbook with her when he left Pearl Bay. She was devastated when he left, and was found sitting on the floor of the kitchen, crying. "He named the sticky-date pudding after me!" she cried.
6. Developers wanted to redevelop Brabey Point into a residential area, but didn't because of a massive outcry from Pearl Bay residents due to the supernatural power of Brabey Point to make people fall in love.
Harold. Harold was a lawyer while Laura was the magistrate. Later, Laura also resigned from the magistrate's position in favour of representing her daughter Miranda and her boyfriend Craig when they were charged after protesting against an environment-damaging development.
