Harold. Harold was a lawyer while Laura was the magistrate. Later, Laura also resigned from the magistrate's position in favour of representing her daughter Miranda and her boyfriend Craig when they were charged after protesting against an environment-damaging development.
6. Developers wanted to redevelop Brabey Point into a residential area, but didn't because of a massive outcry from Pearl Bay residents due to the supernatural power of Brabey Point to make people fall in love.
Sticky date pudding . Dan taught Laura to cook and left his cookbook with her when he left Pearl Bay. She was devastated when he left, and was found sitting on the floor of the kitchen, crying. "He named the sticky-date pudding after me!" she cried.
Georgio Armani. When Laura's sister Trudi visited in "The fellowship of the suit," some of the suit owners fought over the suit. However, Diver Dan had only worn it once - to his wedding.
Port Deakin. Bob Jelly is always trying to rebuild the bridge, but because Pearl Bay is prone to natural disasters, his dreams are always short-lived.
The Pearl Bay Oyster. Max grew up in Pearl Bay, and moved back a little way into the series. He had a contract to write a novel, but was sacked by his publisher because he was four months past his deadline.
Kevin and Trevor Finlay. The discussions are usually reflecting on the events of the episode.
Alison Whyte. Alison has also appeared in "Frontline," for which she won A TV Week Logie Award, and the ill-fated Seven Network drama "Marshall Law" with Lisa McCune and "SeaChange" star William McInnes.
Greenthorn. Bob Jelly is always conspiring with someone to develop Pearl Bay into a bigger, busier city. Greenthorn was damaging the environment, and thanks to Meredith, Miranda and Craig found out and protested.
All of these (The Robert Jelly Tunnel, The Robert James Jelly Tunnel, The Junnel). This came after the short-lived Mrs. Robert James Jelly bridge.
The Sydney Times. She was appointed Junior Restaurant Critic.
A brooch. The incident occured when Jules, an estate agent was showing dancer Franchesca around a house. Franchesca was later revealed to be the thief - amongst other crimes she was wanted for.
The CFA Dance. The reason they all go is because, and I quote, "You need your local fire service."
The Galapagos Islands. Diver Dan hated to stay in one place for too long.

Laura Gibson. Laura is played by successful Australian actress Sigrid Thornton, also known for her roles in "All the Rivers Run" and "The Man from Snowy River."

Meredith. Miranda Gibson once did a school project on the history of Pearl Bay, and Meredith told her seemingly small things about particular days, such as one when there were no babies born.
