Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Trekkies questioned why Klingons looked different. The real reason was that now they had the budget to make them look different. But then cross-over characters Kang, Kor, and Koloth appeared, who looked mostly Human in TOS, but ridged in DS9. Finally, in DS9 ep 'Trials and Tribble-ations', Worf acknowledged that Klingons looked different in the 23rd Century, but not why.

Worf. Torres is an acting lieutenant on Voyager, but she dropped out of the Academy. Kurn was acting First Officer of the Enterprise during an officer exchange program, but he never attended the Academy. K'Eylar was a special emmisary, not an officer.

false . In ep. 'Eye of the Needle', they communicate with the Romulan Telek in the Alpha Quadrant through a tiny wormhole that the ship cannot travel through. In ep. 'Unity', Chakotay encounters a colony of former Borg, many of whom were assimilated from raids into the Alpha quadrant. Amongst them is Orum, a Romulan.
22nd. In TOS ep 'Balance of Terror', it is mentioned that the war occurred 100 years before. Later, it was established that TOS took place in the 23rd Century. (Hopefully, 'Enterprise' will address the Romulan War.)
