Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
'Star Trek: The Next Generation' - Alphabetical
Acamar III. This is the episode where one of her attendants was trying to kill off members of a group who had killed off the members of her group.
Algolian ceremonial rhythms. The Ferengi didn't like it, was distracting him from his chess game.
What was the name of the planet which was featured in a first-season episode where the males are considered inferior to the females? | 'Star Trek' Terms: Letter A
|
Angel One. Riker had a 'fling' with their leader.
Armus. Armus looked like a big oil spill, but was much more dangerous.
Away Team. 'Landing party' or 'boarding party were used in the original series. Riker didn't like to let the captain go on away missions because they were dangerous and the captain was needed on the ship. (Too bad Spock didn't have Riker's idea, but then a lot of the episodes wouldn't have happened had Kirk stayed on the ship!)
Arcturian Fizz. It was supposed to 'have pleasure-enhancing qualities,' but we never saw the drink because Daimon Tog's officer interrupted and convinced the Daimon to let him study Lwaxana instead.
What was the last name of the doctor who had been trying to develop a Kreiger Wave converter in 'A Matter of Perspective'? | 'Star Trek' Terms: Letter A
|
Apgar. Riker said he didn't kill the doctor, the assistant said Riker did. It turns out that the doctor had tried to kill Riker, but the beam bounced off the transporter beam and killed the doctor instead.
Yes, I have asked a lot of questions which have to do with Lwaxana. So here's another: What species was the ambassador who was going to blow up the conference on Pacifica in 'Manhunt'? | 'Star Trek' Terms: Letter A
|
Antidean. Mick Fleetwood played the Antidean ambassador in this episode. The Antideans don't like space travel, so they were sedated during the trip.
Angel Falls. Angel Falls is in Venezuela.
Bajoran death chant. The death chant is supposed to be two hours long. We learned about it in the episode 'The Next Phase' where Ro and Geordi 'disappeared'.
Bynars. The Bynars are usually found in pairs. They stole the Enterprise in an effort to try and fix their homeworld's computer system.
Betazed. This planet was later occupied by Dominion forces in 'Deep Space Nine.' There's a book called 'Battle of Betazed' which tells the story of how it was liberated.
And I start out with a Mrs. Troi question: What is the last name of the man who was going to marry her in 'Cost of Living'? | 'Star Trek' Terms: Letter C
|
Campio. Minister Campio was too formal for her taste.
Dara. She wanted her father to go through with the Resolution (ritual suicide), but Mrs. Troi didn't want him to.
Earth. That's the episode where we meet Mark Twain and Jack London.
The Egg. He'd been working on it for the past 20 years, until Wesley's nanites got loose on the ship.
Eline. This is the episode where Picard relives Kamin's life on Kataan.
'Ethics, Sophistry and the Alternate Universe'. He didn't know he would end up meeting Vash and going on a hunt for some artifact.
In 'Tapestry,' Q allows Picard to see what his life would have been like had he not gotten into a fight in his youth. What was the last name of the captain of the Enterprise in this alternate reality? | 'Star Trek' Terms: Letter H
|
Halloway. And Picard was a lowly worker who Troi and Riker thought wouldn't get far in his career.
This is sort of related to Mrs. Troi since it's about her daughter: What special name did Deanna call Riker? | 'Star Trek' Terms: Letter I
|
Imzadi. We hear her call him this many times throughout the series. 'Isil'zha' means 'the future' on 'Babylon 5.'
Kaelon II. The people on that planet have a ritual suicide when they reach a certain age.
Kostolain. Minister Campio was some sort of royalty from that planet. Naturally.
Little One. In 'Menage a Troi,' we see Deanna's frustration at being called that 'demeaning' name. 'Precious One' is what we find out Lwaxana had called Kestra, her first daughter.
nitrium. It caused a lot of systems to fail including the inertial dampners, replicators and (you guessed it) the holodeck.
uniform-adjusting. When the show went to the two-piece uniforms, the "Picard Maneuver" was when he would pull down the top.
