In summary, it seems Dylan has decided to come out publicly as gay film maker and now has a company called "Do Ask, Do Tell Productions", a pun on the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" military policy. At the opening of the episode, we see Tina and Bette having separate phone conversations at the Planet. Tina's conversation concerns Jenny's new script which recently was sold in a bidding war for how much?6.05: 'Litmus Test'

500,000 dollars. Tina is impressed on how Jenny was able to gather herself after 'Lez Girls' was stolen from her and worked out a new script. According to what Tina has heard, this one is completely different: "it's an action comedy about a talk show host and a cop; and the talk show host gets embroiled in a murder mystery -but the movie really revolves around the romance between the talk show host and the cop. Kind of like a 'Foul Play' meets 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith'." This news hits Alice a little too close as this was the same idea she had disclosed to Jenny as her concept for a treatment. And yet, another potential killer is added to the suspect list.

Shane. Alice is too enraged to even think of joining Shane and Jenny to celebrate. I mean, who wouldn't be if someone discards your ideas as 'contrived, boring, and unoriginal', only to sell them later for top dollar?

After storming out of Jenny's house, Alice returns to The Planet and finds Bette and Tina are still there. When asked for a reason, Bette informs Alice she is 'working from home, yet she has no home', alluding to the construction going on at her house. During their conversation at The Planet, Tina and Bette realize Alice and Tasha are having a "third wheel crush" on whom?6.05: 'Litmus Test'

Jamie . Alice is showing all the signs of a 'third wheel crush' to the eyes of Bette and Tina. They warn her that everything is good as long as 'the balance doesn't tip'. For this to happen, either Tasha or Alice would have to fall in love with Jamie and decide to act on it.

During their table reunion at The Planet shortly after Alice's fight with Jenny, Kit warns the gang that not only Alice is into 'dangerous business' with the third-wheel crush dilemma. Helena then confesses to her friends she's having dinner with Dylan on Saturday night for which reason?6.05: 'Litmus Test'

She can't help herself. Helena tells her friends that Dylan has 'colonized her thoughts'. She obviously isn't over Dylan and the fact that Dylan mentioned to Tina that Helena was the love of her life gives her hopes. Bette thinks that it's a terrible idea and her friends second it.

While the girls brainstorm on the test of character they're going to put Dylan through, they decide that it needs to involve someone that would advance her career. After thinking for a while, Bette comes up with the name of the perfect person. Who is this person?6.05: 'Litmus Test'

Nicky . Bette thinks the whole idea of a test of character is 'ill-advised and juvenile', but if there were going to be a test, they should try to get Niki to pretend she was in some kind of big movie and she was interested in having Dylan direct it. Tina thinks it would be tempting enough, and Alice suggests completing the master plan by having Niki hit on Dylan and then see if she would sell Helena out for the big time. Back into missions, just like in the old times!

Jenny eventually has to admit she needs to learn to trust Shane and vows not to fight.

Tina and Bette are having dinner with Kelly Wentworth and an artist. What is the artist's name?6.05: 'Litmus Test'

Caleb. Caleb is slightly interested in how Bette and Kelly met. Bette tells him the where they know each other from, but Kelly prefers to add some spice to the conversation by mentioning Bette was in love with her.

Niki had thought Shane came over to see her at the studio in the morning because she felt something for her. She tells Shane to come look for her if things with Jenny don't work.

The beginning of the episode brings us to Jenny's house. She's hosting a surprise baby shower for Max using his favorite story as a party theme for it. What is the name of this story?6.06: 'Lactose Intolerant'

'Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory'. Jenny's baby shower party theme includes the 'Oompa Loompa Song', colorful lollipops and a purple coat and hat alluding to 'Willie Wonka'.

According to Jenny, who is the only "non-friend" at Max's baby shower surprise party?6.06: 'Lactose Intolerant'

Jamie. Alice and Tasha invited Jamie to the baby shower, since they didn't think Max would mind. Jenny wasn't happy to have Jamie over and made several inappropriate remarks in her presence.

Max got several presents at the baby shower. What didn't he get?6.06: 'Lactose Intolerant'

a birth plan journal. Tina and Bette gave Max a fancy stroller as a present; Kit bought him a pair of onesies for the baby (which Max found funny); and Jenny -always inappropriate- gave Max a breast pump to facilitate lactation. Max wasn't too happy with the last present, even after Tina urged him to breastfeed because health benefits for the child according to doctors.
