1976. "What's Happening" premiered in 1976. It ran for 3 years and had a spinoff called "Shirley." They even had a show called "What's Happening Now," when they were all grown up!
Yes. Yes, Ernest Thomas had a small part in "Roots." He played Sitafa Silla, the friend of Kunta Kinte while in Juffere Village.
