White Claudia. According to the book, this perennial herb has white, oblong leaves and grows near water. This could obviously be the herb to cause everyone to imagine things.
Who creates the nightmares and manifestations in Silent Hill? | Silent Hill

Alessa Gillespie. Alessa was trapped in a zombie-like state, causing Silent Hill's reality to merge with her own nightmare world aided by her fears and lonliness and was afraid and unable to prevent the evil.
Where do you confront the 'possessed' Cybil? | Silent Hill

The carousel. According to the cult, Cybil is not needed and so she becomes under an evil cloud (possibly the manefestation from Alessa?)
Which hospital is Dr. Michael Kauffman a physician at? | Silent Hill

Alchemilla. Alchemilla is the hospital in Old Silent Hill where Kauffman is using his profession to develop a drug which causes people to hallucinate the strange images.
Garland. Lisa is a nurse who, judging from the FMV at the beginning, does not want to play a part in the cult and discovers that she is not human anymore.
Samael. This is the 'god' and apparent source of the black energy that is devouring Silent Hill. He/it is trying to access the real world by using the nightmare world.

Dahlia Gillespie. Apparently, Dahlia has kept her daughter Alessa, trapped inside this nigthmare so she can ressurect a god. And the monsters and the rotting Silent Hill are spawned from her inescapable hell.

Brahms. Cybil is a Brahms deputy. She somehow got a call to go to Silent Hill, which was not planned for by the cult.
His Daughter. Cheryl is needed to form the other half of the sacrifice to resurrect the cult's God.
Harry Mason. One theory on the nightmare is that he was originally inside it, but was pulled back into the real world when Cybil found him.
Why is a vial of Aglaophotis smashed on the floor in the Hospital? | Silent Hill 1

Kaufmann left it there so Dahlia would find it. Dahlia knew that Kaufmann had the last of the Aglaophotis and he knew she would want to destroy it, so he planted a small vial where she would find and destroy it thinking she had destroyed the last of it. Thus Kaufmann could keep one final vial to use on the final god.

They act like elevators. When Harry walks into one of the Toilet rooms in 'The Otherworld' school, he exits to find he has been taken to the alternate floor of the school without explanation.

There is sound of a girl crying. When Harry walks into the toilets of the school before entering the Clock Tower, the sound of a young girl crying can be heard from behind a locked door.

He is following Cheryl into there. As Alessa draws Cheryl into 'The Otherworld', Harry follows after her. As he comes closer to his daughter, he also comes closer to the terrible place she has been taken to.

The Mark of Samael. While Dahlia tells Harry that the terrible mark allover town is "That Mark of Samael" and a seal that will summon a terrible god, it is infact quite the opposite as we discover later in the saga.
She is the second incarnation of the god. When Alessa was burned by her mother, Cheryl was created as a second host for the god. When Harry brings Cheryl back to the town it allows Dahlia's cult's plan to unfold and the god to be summoned.
If you save Kaufmann, why does his final act of throwing the Aglaophotis onto the final boss cause such negative effects? | Silent Hill 1

It expells the god from Alessa in it's true form. Aglaophotis is used to expell demons from possessed humans usually leaving the demon banished, but the god simply leaves its host body and thus Harry must battle its true form.
Why does Lisa die such a bizarre death in 'Nowhere'? | Silent Hill 1

She was dead all along. Lisa has been dead long before Harry came to the town, this is why she only exists in 'The Otherworld', she is simply one of Alessa's childhood memories.

Dahlia. Dahlia burned down her own house with Alessa locked in her room so she would be placed in a coma and the cult could extract the god's soul from her.

Alessa. As Harry drives towards the town, Alessa's ghost appears on the road to cause him to crash so she can take Cheryl into 'The Otherworld'.

"Daddy....thank you daddy...goodbye.". She thanks her farther before leaving, these endings are bad because Alessa has now ended her life and escaped her painful existence. This is why she can be heard thanking her farther for releasing her.
In these endings, Harry is shocked and either will just stand there until the building falls in on him and Cybil or the scene will cut to Harry laying dead in his car, revealing that the whole game was just a dream in the last minutes of Harry's life.
Once Lisa takes on her form as a demonic puppet nurse, Harry locks her inside a room, too afraid to let her out. If you choose to go back inside the room where Lisa's transition took place what do you find what? | "Silent Hill 1" (The Game)

Lisa's diary. If you go back inside the room, you can find and read Lisa's diary. It explains about her time spent looking after Alessa who she refers to as "the patient". It also mentions she is thinking of quitting her job.
Annie's Bar. You have the choice to save Kaufmann be shooting the Mumbler which is attacking him. Depending on if he dies or if you save him will help decide the ending of the game.
Jodie Mason. Very little is known about Harry's wife, only that she died four years ago due to an illness. She and Harry can be seen in a flashback when they first found baby Cheryl on the side of a highway.
Red and black. Dahlia's outfit is not the only thing that looks strange. Throughout the game Dahlia appears to walk around with bare feet though reasons why are unknown.
It is revealed that Lisa Garland was forced to nurse Alessa in the basement of Alchemilla Hospital. How did Doctor Kaufmann force her to do this against her will ? | "Silent Hill 1" (The Game)

He threatened to take away her supply of drugs. Lisa was a drug addict, and Kaufmann and the Order were head of the illegal "Silent Hill" drugs trade who dealt to tourists. It is possible that the drug Lisa was hooked on was a native drug named White Claudia.
Harry first meets a mysterious women named Dahlia in the Balkan Church and she gives him something called The Flauros. What does she say it does? | "Silent Hill 1" (The Game)

"It can break through the walls of darkness and counteract the wrath of the underworld". Dahlia's exact words were "Here, the Flauros cage of piece, it can break through the walls of darkness and counteract the wrath of the underworld, these will help you". She then exits through a door and cannot be followed. Its exact purpose, however, is to capture Alessa, so Harry is merely a pawn in Dahlia's plan for salvation.
5to2. This is where Harry meets Officer Cybil Bennett. This is also where Harry can obtain the gun and the broken radio.
