Liem. Liem walks very slow, so it's always hard to keep pace. But, at some points, Liem would hop along while Ark would have to defeat like 15 enemies. When Ark met up with Liem on the next screen, does he commend the efforts of the great Ark? No! He harasses Ark for being too slow!

Louran. The town was 'supposedly' deserted, but you enter to find it full of people. Upon sleeping in the inn, you awaken to see that everyone is actually a zombie.
0 gems. Ark pays nothing! Upon entering the docks, a rich man offers his boat in exchange for anyone who can rid the sea of deadly monsters. When Ark does this, the boat can be used freely!

Meilin. In one particular scene in Liotto, Meilin wants Ark to meet her there that night, and before running away, she screams out "I love you Ark!" After Ark rests and wake up, he goes back to that spot and is shocked to see Elle (from Crysta) there. After Ark talks to her and has a somewhat romantic conversation, Meilin appears, saying that the illusion was all her doing. She then screams out "I hate you Ark!" and runs off again!
Bell. This should be relatively easy, even if you haven't played the game! The "Bell" character in this game is love struck over the fact his girlfriend is so far away, so he sets out to invent the telephone, a device where people can communicate across vast distances instantly ...and why is this question such common sense? Well, it's Alexander Graham BELL who invented the telephone, of course! In this game, Ark also meets Pierre, who invents the camera, and Eddy, who discovers electricity.

Australia. The game itself is based around our current Earth, and the map reflects that perfectly, as the two look the exact same. Suncoast is the only real attraction in Australia, and is only popular when Ark does some tasks to publicize it.

Columbus . The game clearly recognizes him as the great discoverer. Even though he is only called "Columbus", there are books Ark can read in the castle's library that talk about his voyages and such.

skateboard. When Ark first enters Freedom, he meets Perel in the town centre. After watching him do some skateboarding moves, the two become friends.

Loire. The Loire is a river in France, appropriate for the town that represents France in this game. When you first come to Loire, the town is ruled by a tyrannical king, but after he dies, the town is free to advance, if you select the right person to lead the new government.

Neo. Neo is the lion king, and a friend of Ark's. The other three all work for Dark Gaia in his plot to restore himself to the world. King Henri was in charge of finding the Lightside's version of Pandora's Box and killing the legendary hero, Wong was in charge of gathering money and materials for Beruga's clut, and Beruga was in charge of eliminating those who Dark Gaia considered "unnecessary."
Nirlake. Nirlake is Terranigma's equivalant to Chicago, so it winds up burning down in a great fire shortly after Beruga awakens. However, with help from Ark and nine rich people, it's rebuilt into a great metropolis.
Liotto. Liotto represents Rio de Janeiro, and is known for its 24-hour carnival. Among other things, you can get a Magirock here by playing "Cream-A-Cat". You can also buy watermelon at another stall, and there's an important event involving Meilin the first time you come here.

Dragoon Castle. Dragoon Castle is a dark castle in which you have to avoid guards. You go there to save Princess Elle from Wong, but first you have to get the Speed Shoes so that you're fast enough to evade the guards. Later, you have to escape from a trap set by Meilin, and afterwards, you have to escape through the sewers.
Leim. At one point in the game, you have to help Leim finish a trial in the Canyon south of Safarium. During the trial, Leim found one of the Starstones that you need in Chapter 3, but it's stolen by a man who later died in the Sahara. Later, you meet him in the sewers of Neotokio, where he wound up after being captured at some point.

Black Opal. Searching for the gems is the main goal in Sylvain Castle. However, after finding them and putting them in place, you have to first "play" with an evil possessed doll, then fight Bloody Mary, an incredibly difficult boss.

Ginseng. You get the Ginseng from the president of Lon Trading Company in exchange for checking on his brother at Dragoon Castle to see if he's doing bad things there. Turns out that he is- to be exact, he's supplying Beruga with materials and money to construct a fortress in Siberia.

Hitoderon. Hitoderon is a trio of starfish who attack you in the depths of the Great Lakes Cavern, and is one of the easiest bosses in the game. Mud Doll appears in the Canyon, Parasite inside the Ra Tree, and Shadowkeeper at the top of Tower 5.

X-Spear. The lottery is the ONLY place to get an X-Spear. The CrySpear is Ark's initial weapon, and the SilverPike and AlphaRod can be bought in shops, but are expensive.
Louran. Temjin is a selfish millionaire who lives in Louran. If you tell him to take his fortune to the grave with him, you can get 500 free Gems later. By the way, Temjin is named after the Mongol conquerer Temuchin, better known as Genghis Khan.

Neotokio. To meet the game designers, you have to examine a trash can in Neotokio and fight the "miserly ghost", after which the Quintet building appears in Neotokio. The designers are extremely funny, and for some reason resemble frogs, penguins, and chickens. Unfortunately, the designers die off along with everyone else in Neotokio after Beruga awakens and spreads his deadly virus throughout the world.
Ark. In addition to his default name being Ark, you can change it to whatever you want. What you name him doesn't matter.
Staff/Spear. Most of Ark's weapons have either Pike, Rod, Staff, or Spear in the name. All the official art has Ark weilding a Staff/Spear. Execpt the one "Attack" picture. In that, he's holding a sword.
Gems. Ark collects Gems by killing enemies. He can also get them by selling crap he's found. You use Gems to buy just about everything he uses, from Armour to Weapons.
Bulbs. Ark is allways chowing down those bulbs if you get hurt a lot.The small ones heal for 50, the large ones 100, and the Large bulbs heal for 150. If he eats any L.Bulbs, Ark throws up. Though the throwing up does nothing.
Yomi. Yomi introduces himself to Ark when they first meet, in the basement of the Elder's house. Yomi usually comments on how Ark does things, though, they are usually negative.
