    f. Apollo 10 was the only Apollo mission to launch from 39B. Apollo 10 launched on May 18, 1969.

    John Young. John Young was the Command Module Pilot. He later commanded Apollo 16, and walked on the moon with Charlie Duke at Descartes.

    First manned LM-CSM undocking. The first manned LM-CSM undocking took place on Apollo 9 in March 1969. Apollo 10 was the first manned LM-CSM undocking and docking in lunar orbit.

With which group of astronauts did the Lunar Module Pilot join NASA?
    Third. Gene Cernan was chosen in 1963 with the third group of astronauts. He was the pilot of Gemini 9, and later walked on the moon at Taurus-Littrow as Commander of Apollo 17.

Apollo 10 was the first Apollo mission whose Lunar Module Pilot actually had a fully operational LM.
    f. Apollo 9 had flown a fully operational LM in earth orbit. Apollo 10's LM, "Snoopy", was the first LM to enter lunar orbit.

    Placed in solar orbit. After Apollo 10's trip to within 50,000 feet of the lunar surface, they rendezvoused with the command module. After the transfer back to the command module, the LM was undocked and Flight Control fired the ascent engine to burn the rest of the fuel and place Snoopy in solar orbit.

At splashdown, the command module assumed an apex-down flotation attitude.
    f. Apollo 10 maintained an apex-up flotation after splashdown.

    08 Days, 0 hours, 03 min, 23 seconds. Apollo 10 splashed down on May 26, 1969 in the Pacific Ocean. The recovery ship was the USS Princeton.
