Kirby Carlisle. Played by Jim Turner, Kirby's main jobs include getting prostitutes for clients, showing clients a good time, and getting things such as cars for them. He has a daughter he never sees spawned from a one-night stand long ago.

This man is fiscally conservative, although he has taken several bad investments that have cost himself and Arliss a good deal of money. A black man, his heritage sometimes plays a role in how he conducts himself. True friends with Kirby, he often has to pull him out of a mess. What is this man's name?
Stanley Babson. Played by Michael Boatman, Stanley once slept with the IRS agent auditing Kirby to get him off the hook. After a bad investment deal involving a horse, he tried to have the horse killed for the insurance money.

This recurring character is Arliss's biggest rival in the world of sports management. He once tried to buy the agency, but Arliss wouldn't sell. Arliss and him have a game where they try to take the most clients when another agent dies or goes belly up.
Mike Armstrong. Played by John Reilly, Armstrong and Arliss love to hate each other. They have stolen several clients from each other and are the two biggest names in the game.

Another recurring character, this Hispanic immigrant is an all-around guy for the agency. Originally a shoe-shiner, he expanded his business to trafficking in Cuban cigars for Arliss to smoke and Cuban nationals for Arliss to sign. Rita loves him for his great abilities with her expensive shoes. What is his name?
Kike. This role is played by Hispanic actor Gerry Del Sol. Kike has a shoeshine and coffee shop in the building where AMM is located. He has helped Arliss sign at least two Hispanic clients.

Which one of these sports stars were not in the pilot episode "A Man of Our Times"?
Warren Moon. Bob Costas, Jerry Jones, Elizabeth Manley, Ann Meyers-Drysdale, Shaquille O'Neal, Jim Palmer, and Danny Tartabull all starred in the pilot episode. Arliss is nominated for the honor of being "Man of Our Times", but his glory is interrupted by a client who want to wed his same-sex partner, Kirby's gambling, and another client's downfall.

In the episode "Salary Cap This!", Arliss is jockeying to be on the cover of a famous magazine's issue with an article about agents. Despite some early maneuvering, Arliss seems to be out of the running. But "the working man's friend" puts on his best moves in OT when he risks his own life to save a client from a frozen death in the mountains, in the process displaying his brilliant grasp of all things dealing with the NBA salary cap. What magazine?
Sports Illustrated. Guests stars included Bob Arum, David Falk, Ernie Johnson, Jr., Floyd Mayweather, and Jerry West. Arliss did make it to the cover and got his client a much better deal.
