Fun Trivia: A : Australian Music

Special Sub-Topic: Australian Hits of the 70s

'Throw a Little Love My Way' (1971)

Tadpole. Tadpole were a one-hit studio group.

'I Like It Both Ways' (1976)
Supernaut. Classic Sydney glam-rock outfit, sadly under-rated.

'Another Night On the Road' (1978)
Sherbet. Probably Sherbet's last decent hit before their American 'invasion'.

'Rock and Roll Lady' (1972)
Gary Young. Drummer for Daddy Cool, Young released this toward the end of his Daddy Cool days.

'Sympathy' (1971)
Mike Brady. A reasonable sized hit for Mike, but nothing like the success he was to find 8 years later with 'Up There Cazaly'.

'Crying In the Rain' (1970)
Trevor Spry. Trevor was a rock journalist and panelist on 'Uptight' and 'Happening 70', and this was his only foray into the pop charts.

'Shake a Hand' (1975)
Johnny Farnham. Not one of Johnny's bigger hits.

'They Shoot Horses, Don't They?' (1977)
Racing Cars. Another classic song, lost in the midst of time...

'Confrontation' (1979)
The Aliens. Top song from another one-hit wonder group.

'Curly' (1970)
Jimmy Hannan. Jimmy was everyone's favourite game show host, and didn't belt a bad song, either.

'She Taught Me How To Love Again' (1977)
Bjerre. Lindsay Bjerre was a David Bowie clone. Great song, though.

'Trouble In the City' (1979)
Moscos and Stone. Moscos and Stone were just about the biggest thing on the Queensland music scene around the turn of the decade, and this was just one of their biggies.

'Under the Silent Tree' (1972)
Flake. Flake were a Sydney outfit who pumped out some high class stuff in the early 70's.

'Catfish John' (1973)
    Hawking Bros..

'Goblin's Gamble' (1971)
Autumn. Autumn were probably more famous for their covers, but this was a high class original from them.
