    Sir William Lyne & William Lyne & Sir Lyne & Lyne. Sir Lyne was the Premier of New South Wales and being the senior colony, he had the right to be Prime Minister. In the end, Edmund Barton became Prime Minister.

    Edmund Barton & Barton. Edmund Barton served as Prime Minister from 1 January 1901 to the 24 September 1903. He then served as High Court Judge and on the 7 January 1920, died suddenly of heart failure.

    3. Before Alfred Deakin was Prime Minister, Edmund Barton appointed him as Attorney-General. When Barton resigned he made Deakin his successor.

    William Morris Hughes & Hughes & William Hughes & Billy Hughes. On 28th October 1952 William Hughes, also known as Billy Hughes died of pneumonia. He was aged 88 and still a Member of Parliment to the day he died. He was also the last member of the first Federal Parliament still to occupy his seat.

Who was Prime Minister for most of World War 2?
    John Curtin. John Curtin died on th5 July 1945. His successor at the time of his death was Frank Forde until the election for leadership of the Party. He lost that to Ben Chifley.

When Robert Gordon Menzies came back for a second chance at Prime Minister, what was the date that he got that second chance?
    10th December 1949. Robert Gordon Menzies was Prime Minister of Australia for a total of 18 years. He died on 15th May 1978.

Who was the Prime Minister that went missing on 17th December 1967?
    Harold Holt & Holt. Harold Holt's time as Prime Minister was nearly always preoccupied by the Vietnam war.

How old was Malcolm Fraser when he was elected on 10th December 1977?
    45. On the 11 November 1975, Govenor-General Sir William Kerr dismissed Whitlam and appointed Fraser as caretaker Prime Minister.
