    18. Bert Newton is one of Australia's most loved personalities having won a total of 18 Logies, six of which are the presitgious Gold Logie. No other Australia has won nearly as many. As a result Bert became the regular presenter of the Gold Logie.

    Pattie. Bert and Pattie were married on 9th November 1974. Bert proposed to Pattie on a ship after following her to declare his love. They have been inseparble since.

    7. Bert was hired by the 7 network in 1957 after they heard his radio skills on 3XY. He began his television on "The Late Show" with Noel Ferrier. "The Late Show's" competition was Graham Kennedy on Channel 9 (Kennedy had moved to television from 3UZ earlier that year).
