    Venice. Even though the the Bridge of Sighs is a favorite place for young lovers today, its purpose in the past was to allow prisoners to get a last glimpse of freedom before being lead to their cell.

    Rome. In ancient Rome, gladiators fought to the death in this arena. It was quite a pastime for the Romans. And I thought football was a dangerous sport.

In which city is the famous opera house, La Scala located?
    Milan. La Scala is one of, if not the most beautiful, opera houses in the world. Its horse shoe shape has been replicated in many other music halls such as the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Many of the world's finest opera singers have sung there, performing the operas of Verdi, Puccini, and Mozart (to name a few).

    Sicily & Sicilia. Sicily is a beautiful island region located right off the toe of mainland Italy. It is famous for its wine and olives.

    Capri. The crystals that are all over the inside of the cave give the cave its blue color. It is a gorgeous place and gives its visitors a sense of frightening wonder.

    L'Aquila. This city was built almost entirely around the number 99.

    Piedmonte. FIAT which stands for Fabbrica Italiana di Automobile Torino, is one of Europe's largest producers of automobiles. They are most famous for cars such as the FIAT 500, and the Ferrari.

The Basilica of Saint Francis is located in what holy city?
    Assisi & Assissi. This famous Basilica was partially destroyed in an earthquake in the late 1990's.
