'Lancer'

    B1. One of the greatest bombers ever made, the B1 Lancer is a long range large payload bomber.

    B2. Top Serect for many years this bomber has not really had a chance to prove itself. The uniuqe shape of the plane is called a delta wing.

'Flying Fortress'
    B17. The most famous B17 was the Memphis Belle, which in WWII completed all 25 required missions without losing a crewmember. The plane was retired and the crew got to go home. She was the first bomber in WWII that completed all 25 missions that needed to be flown by one bomber.

'Superfortress'
    B29. The ultimate replacement for the B17 and the B24, the B29 was used primarily in WWII and also served in Korea. It primarily attacked targets in North Korea. Two B-29's named the Enola Gay and the Bockscar dropped the Atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.

'Stratofortress'
    B52. On Jan. 18, 1957, three B-52Bs completed the world's first non-stop round-the-world flight by jet aircraft, lasting 45 hours and 19 minutes with only three aerial refuelings en route

'Tornado'
    B45. The B-45 was the first American four-engine jet bomber to fly and the first USAF jet bomber to go into production.

'Hustler'
    B58. The delta-wing Hustler was the first USAF supersonic operational bomber. The B-58 made its initial flight on Nov. 11, 1956 and flew supersonically on Dec. 30, 1956

For over 20 years this supersonic jet has been flying high altitude recon around the world. The SR71 is know by what nickname?
    Blackbird. This machine is an unarmed aircraft. The idea was to give it the ability to fly fast enough that no other aircraft in the world could catch it. It is used as a recon plane. The 71 was retired from the Air Force but NASA still uses it for the Top Secret stuff.
