    Dogen. Eisai was of course the monk who first brought Zen (called Ch'an in China) Buddhism to Japan in the late 12th century. Dogen stressed zazen, or seated meditation, as a regular practice for Zen monks.

Who was the originator of the International Red Cross?
    Dunant. Jean Henri Dunant, a Swiss philanthropist, proposed that an international body be created that would help victims of war. His dream was fulfilled at the Geneva Convention of 1864 where the Red Cross was officially sanctioned. He won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1901 for his efforts.
