Fun Trivia: E : Europe

Special Sub-Topic: European Peninsulas

Which countries lie on the Iberian Peninsula?

Spain and Portugal. The Pyrenees form a natural land barrier in the northeast that separates Spain and Portugal from the rest of Europe. In the south at Gibraltar, the peninsula is separated from North Africa by a narrow strait, the Strait of Gibraltar.

Which countries lie on the Jutland Peninsula?
Denmark and Germany. Denmark occupies most of the Jutland Peninsula and the peninsula contains all of the Danish mainland. A little bit of Germany also occupies the peninsula, which extends into the North Sea. The Jutland peninsula separates the Baltic from the North Sea - and more generally from the 'open sea', making it a kind of vast N. European lake

Which countries lie on the Balkan Peninsula?
Albania and Macedonia. The Balkan Peninsula includes most of Slovenia, Croatia, Yugoslavia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Albania, Macedonia, continental Greece (including the Peloponnesus), Bulgaria, European Turkey, and Southeast Romania. These countries are called the Balkan States.

Which countries lie on the Scandinavian peninsula?
Sweden and Norway. Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland are considered part of Scandinavia, but only Norway and Sweden make up the Scandinavian peninsula.

What mountain range runs the entire length of the Italian peninsula?
Apennines. The Apennines have mineral springs, crater lakes, and volcanoes (Vesuvius and Etna, are still active), and some earthquakes.
