3. Where did Ferdinand Magellan die on his crew's voyage circumnavigating the world?

Answer: The Philippines

However, Amerigo Vespucci's key discovery was that America (or the Americas) were a continent and not the most easterly parts of Asia.

The name 'America' appeared first in Martin Waldseemüller's 1507 world map, but there is some disagreement as where Waldseemüller got the name from. Sources other than Amerigo Vespucci have been suggested.
