    Sight and Smell. These two senses are what make the panther such an excellent hunter. One thing you will never see in Florida is a black panther--this is because they do not actually exist. The animals that are often mistaken for 'black panthers' are actually melanistic (black) jaguars or leopards, neither of which are even found in Florida to begin with.

    a drake. Several specias of duck can be found in Florida, including the mallard duck, which can fly up to 55 miles-per-hour.

Why do a Roseate Spoonbill's feathers have a pinkish tint to them?
    They eat a diet high in carotene. The pinkish color comes from the carotene they get from the foods they eat. Carotene is found in large quantities in algae and filter feeders such as shrimp and crabs.

Which of the following is true about the size of the Bald Eagle?
    The female is larger.. Bald Eagles pair for life and build nests in tall pine or cypress trees. The Bald Eagle became the national symbol of the United States in 1782 and is protected by Federal law.
