The Madejski Stadium hosts London Irish's home games as well as being the home ground for the football (soccer) club, Reading.

    Don Rutherford. 'The Don' earned 14 England caps, and went on to become director of rugby for the RFU (Rugby Football Union). The other choices were also England fullbacks. Bob Hiller played for England from 1968-1972, Dusty Hare played in the 1970s, and Marcus Rose in the 1980s. Hiller and Rose were both Harlequins players in their era, and Hare was from Leicester.

Mickey Skinner and Peter Winterbottom were contempories, playing for England from 1998-1992 and 1982-1993, respectively. Skinner was a Harlequins player and Winterbottom played for Headingley. Neil Back was a Leicester star from the next era, playing for England betwwen 1994 and 2003.

    Trevor Woodman. Graham Rowntree was a Leicester player and missed out on selection in 2003. White and Leonard were both in the squad, with White playing for Leicester at the time, and Leonard for Harlequins. The two Gloucester players started the final, with Leonard coming on to replace Woodman. Trevor played for Gloucester from 1996 to 2004 before joining Sale, but was forced into an early retirement in 2005 due to a back injury.
