What is the name of the village that Willie Beech goes to live in?

    Little Weirworld. The village is small with a few houses. Everybody knows each other well. There is a school and a church that every family attends.

What does Zacharias Wrench say his name is?
    A mouthful. Zacharias is Jewish. When Willie's mother finds this out she is disgusted because she thinks everyone should be Christian.

What are the names of the twins that live in the village?
    Carrie and Ginnie. Carrie and Ginnie have different interests like most twins. One is a tomboy and the other is girly. They are friends with George who also lives in the village.

What is the name of Tom's late wife.
    Rachel. Tom is the old man who looks after Willie when he is evacuated. He doesn't like to talk about Rachel because he is upset about his loss.

What is Willie good at?
    Drawing. He draws Tom's dog Sammie with some paints that Tom buys for him.

What does Carrie receive at school?
    A scholarship. She's the cleverer twin and gets to go to a high school. This was very special in the time that the book is set in and she would probably be considered as a "swot" these days.

Lucy is in love with Willie.
    t. She is rather fat and seems to have a crush on Willie the first time they meet. She is younger than Willie.

Willie is in the play "A Christmas Carol".
    t. He enjoys this very much as he used to be very shy and not very confident so when he starts acting it gives him a huge boost.

What did George break?
    A window. George is the most loud and least sensitive character in the book.

What does Tom play at Willie's birthday party?
    The piano. Everyone at the party thinks this is fantastic and dances around. Tom however is very modest about how good he is.
