Before fighting the Four Saint Beasts, Hiei claims that he and ________ are all that will be required. However, at the start of the Dark Tournament, he says that him and ________ are all that will be required.

Kurama, Yusuke. Before fighting the Saint Beasts, Kurama was Hiei's partner and he knew how strong the fox was. He wouldn't trust their fate to lay in the hands of ANY human, spirit detective or not. But when the Dark Tournament rolls around, Hiei has come to accept Yusuke and his powers, and knows how strong he has become.

In the House of Four Dementions when Koenma is explaining the demon classes, Hiei askes what class they rank him in. What is Koenma's answer?

The middle of B class. Despite Hiei's disapprovement with Koenma's answer, Koenma says that his class rank was quite a feat, because when he fought Yusuke in the beginning of the series, he was only in the upper D class. But in less then a year, he has jumped almost two full classes. After this, Hiei leaves the group, claiming that this was not his world to protect.

Hiei uses his Dragon of the Darkness Flame twice in one day. Who is he fighting that causes him to do this?

Sensui. He uses it first while still in the cave with Sensui and the others. It has no effect whatsoever on Sensui because of his Sacred Energy. The second time he uses it is once they enter Makai.

What is the name of Hiei's third eye?

Jagan. Hiei gets a third eye implanted in his forehead by Shigure, a fellow demon. He uses it to find Yukina and the ice world, and he also tracks down Kurama with it.

What is the name of the ice maiden that tossed Hiei off the cliff?

Rui. Rui was Hina's best friend. Hina was Hiei and Yukina's mother. Hiei travels to the ice world in search for his mother, and finds Rui standing by Hina's grave. Hiei finds out that Hina had committed suicide shortly after her son was tossed off the cliff, but not before she had another child, Yukina. When Hiei learns about Yukina, he goes off in search of her.

What attack does Hiei use to kill Kuro Momataro?

Sword of the Darkness Flame. Kuro Momataro has several "armours", each resistant to the attacks Hiei has previously used on him. Hiei's sword, and several of his attacks are useless against him. Hiei had summoned the Darkness Flame from the pits of Spirit World, but instead of using his arm for the Dragon, he used his sword, thus creating the Sword of the Darkness Flame and killing Kuro Momataro.

Which one of the seven psychics does Hiei defeat?

Sniper. Hiei disappears for a while, but then comes back to rescue Yusuke when Sniper shoots a fuel truck, causing it to explode near Yusuke. Hiei and Yusuke appear in front of Sniper, much to his surprise. Sniper tells Hiei to get lost, but Hiei doesn't like that suggestion and stabs him. We find out in the last episode of the Chapter Black saga that Hiei didn't actually kill Sniper, but he still has a bad scar on his chest from where he was stabbed.

Which of the following does Hiei stab?

Kurama. During Hiei's first fight with Yusuke, he attempts to stab the spirit detective, but Kurama steps in the way to save Yusuke, resulting in him getting stabbed instead. So Hiei did not intentionally stab Kurama, but nonetheless, he stabbed him.

What were the two reasons that Hiei got the Jagan Eye?

To find his mother's tear gem and the ice world. When Hiei got his Jagan, he did not know about Yukina at that time, so therefore it could not have been because of Yukina. Once the Jagan operation was complete and he was fully healed, he easily found the ice world, and that was when he learned of Yukina. He never found his mother's tear gem with the Jagan. Mukuro had been keeping the gem hidden in her stomach since Hiei had lost it. She gives it back to him after his fight with Shigure.

Hiei gladly welcomes death once he defeats Shigure.

t. Hiei feels that his life is complete now that he has found Yukina and his tear gem has been returned to him. He feels he has no more need in life, and that anything that will happen further in his life would be pointless. Mukuro, however, feels differently, and heals Hiei, telling him that it's not yet his time to die. (Thank you Mukuro!)
