Special Sub-Topic: Joel Tobeck, Kiwi Actor

Where was Joel born?

Auckland, New Zealand. Born June 2nd, 1971.

In how many episodes of 'Hercules: The Legendary Journeys' did Joel portray the god Strife?
    6. 'Encounter', 'When a Man Loves a Woman', 'Judgment Day', 'The End of the Begining', 'Armageddon Now Part I', and 'Yes, Virginia, There is a Hercules.' While Strife supposedly died in 'Armegeddon...', he still appeared 2 weeks later in 'Yes, Virginia...'

Joel appeared with Lucy Lawless in a short film where he played the character 'Mog.' What is the name of that film?
Peaches. His part was actually bigger than Lucy's. He also appeared in the other 3 films, though Lucy did not: in 'Just Me and Mario' he played 'Peter', and in 'Memory and Desire' he played 'Nod'. He doesn't have a credited character for 'Sure to Rise' (that I know of!).

What was the name of the office assistant that Joel played in the modern-day, post-earthquake episode of 'Hercules: TLJ'?
David Scott Pollison. 'Paul Robert Coyle' was the gambling-addicted writer played by Michael Hurst (aka 'Iolaus'), Kevin Smith (aka 'Ares') played head writer 'Jerry Patrick Brown', and 'Alex Kurtzman' is the low-rung-on-the-food-chain writer played by Ted Raimi (aka 'Joxer').

What is Joel's middle name?
Bryan. A question for the true fan!

After the death of Strife on 'Hercules: TLJ', Joel portrayed Strife's cousin (basically the same guy, just blonde). What was that character's name?
Deimos. Diemos ('fear') is, according to traditional Greek mythology, the son of Ares, brother to Phobos (the personification of terror). Coincidently, Diemos and Phobos are the names for the moons of the planet Mars (which is the Roman name for Ares) - fitting.

Poor Joel! He's appeared in one major United States feature film release, and it was a royal stinker! Which film?
The Shrimp on the Barbie. The 1990 film starred Cheech Marin and Emma Samms. Joel played Lance, a bit part. Reference note: all four films are credited as directed by 'Alan Smithee', the name used when a director takes his name off the finished product (usually a sign the film is a REAL loser!),

What is the name of Joel's character on 'Cleopatra 2525'?
Creegan. Yep, under that bad-Joker makeup and hideous orange hair, that's our boy Joel! Technically, he's also played main character Hel, in the episode 'In Your Boots', in which Creegan manages to swap his and Hel's minds into each other's bodies. Does an absolutely riviting performance in this ep, too!

Also an accomplished musician, Joel has played in what band (also featuring Kevin Smith, aka 'Ares' from the Herc-Xena world)?
Wide Lapels. Wide Labels plays corporate events in New Zealand. Joel played with The Applicators from 1994-1998, which supported several American bands including Spitboy and The Jesus Lizard. He also released a song called 'Chocolate E. Clair' under the name of J Boy T in 1994.

Joel has won a New Zealand Film and Television Best Actor Award for his work in which film which also stars fellow Kiwi and Herc-Xena player Danielle Cormack (aka the Amazon Ephiny)?
Topless Women Talk About Their Lives. The film also won acclaim at the Cannes film festival. Joel and Danielle also appear together in Channelling Baby.
