    Medicine. Nan, our doctor, was at Plumfield as a naughty child.

Who was Nat's sweetheart?
    Daisy. Nat loved Daisy beacuse she had complete faith in him and was the only person in Plumfield apart from Mother and Father Bhaer who believed that he didn't steal Tom's dollar.

Who is Laurie and Amy's daughter?
    Bess. As a child, Amy was a talented artist. Bess inherits her gift for art and the two spend many hours together in the studio, painting.

Who is Meg's third child?
    Josie. Josie is the younger sister of Margaret (Daisy) and John (Demi).

What did John (Demi) work as?
    Reporter. John (Demi) gives up his job as a reporter later to please his mother.

Who was Franz's bride?
    Ludmilla. Ludmilla and Franz knew each other as children. When they were young children, Franz's uncle Fritz met Ludmilla for the first time.

Who was Emil's bride?
    Mary. Emil went on a voyage and the ship got wrecked, but instead of weeping or getting scared Mary, the girl on board, put up a brave front and backed Emil all she could. After hearing their tale Mr and Mrs Bhaer declared her a perfect sailor's wife.

    Alice. Alice, a girl after our doctor Nan's heart, and John usually acted together in plays as lovers and ended up so in real life.

When younger, what was Bess called?
    Goldilocks. She was called Goldilocks, as she had fine golden hair.

Whom did Tom marry?
    Dora. Dora and Nan knew each other. Though Nan is Tom's childhood sweetheart, Dora wins his heart.
