    Osceola. He died shortly thereafter. Sitting Bull, of course, was famous for the Little Big Horn and George Custer.

This Ottawa leader united the Indians against the British in pre-revolutionary America.
    Pontiac. 'Pontiac's War'. Crazy Horse was also at Little Big Horn against Custer.

This great Cherokee provided a writing system for his people.
    Sequoyah. A great contribution to his people. Geronimo was famous as a warrior.

This Cheyenne leader was a victim of the Sand Creek Massacre.
    Black Kettle. In one of the Old West's darker pages, many Indians were massacred by Col. Chivington and his troops. Cochise and Red Cloud were also great Indian leaders.

Abraham Lincoln served in the military during the war against this Indian leader.
    Black Hawk. Known as 'The Blackhawk War'. Joseph was the leader of the Nez Perce, famous for saying 'I will fight no more forever'.

This great Shawnee leader was killed during the Battle of Thames during the War of 1812.
    Tecumseh. He initially tried to unite the Indians and follow a peaceful path - but it didn't quite work out.

    Masasoit. Thanksgiving, etc. Squanto also was a friend.

This Chief was the leader of the Apaches before Cochise.
    Mangas Coloradas. Two legendary warriors.

This Indian led a war in New England against the American colonists.
    King Philip. 'King Philip's War'. Bloody.

This Indian died during the massacre at Wounded Knee.
    Bigfoot. Often considered to be the last stand for the Indian nation in North America. Another dark page in history.
