    Prithvinarayan. Prithvinarayan Shah lived from 1723 to 1775. He was the conquerer in 1769 of three kingdoms in the Kathmandu Valley (Kathmandu, Pata and Bhaktapur) which effectively united the country. Unfortunately, Nepal has suffered from periodic violence and war over the several centuries after his death.

    Pablo Picasso. The "Demoiselles d'Avignon" was completed in 1907, a painting that shocked the art world. Even Picasso's close friends were seriously forced to question his judgement by creating such a work.     Proust. "Les Plaisirs et les jours" (Pleasures and Regrets) was a collection of short stories by Marcel Proust published in 1896. They were the initials works of literature published by this great, whose grandest piece is known to us as "Remembrance of Things Past" (1927).

Which composer died of a successful throat cancer operation?
    Puccini. Giacomo Puccini was the composer of several memorable operas, for example "Manon Lescaut" and "Tosca". He died in 1924 at the age of 66, while still working on his opera "Turandot".
