Fun Trivia: T : The L Word - Season 2

Special Sub-Topic: Lynch Pin

Why was Bette in New York?

To meet with Ms. Peabody. Since the appointment of Helena Peabody as head of the Peabody Foundation, the California Arts Center (CAC) began to worry that their annual funding would be cut. Bette arrived in New York to meet Helena and when that did not appear to go well, she arranged a meeting with her old pal Peggy Peabody. Peggy was distracted by a younger man and told Bette to give Helena a chance. Though reported to Bette as a lesbian, and seen to be attracted to her therapist in the start of the episode, Helena did have two children. Both were most likely adopted, as Helena appeared to have a philanthropic slant toward children and their plight. In the next episode, "Labyrinth", we find out that Bette's Peabody Grant is given to Tina instead.

How many potential roommates did Shane and Jenny interview before settling on the last one?
    5. The first was Linda, who called herself Feef and was employed by three celebrity catered temp agencies. Then there was the first man, Ewan, who seemed like a go until he explained there would be times he'd be walking around nude. After the nudie came an unnamed woman who was interested in scheduling turns to cook dinner and making an effort to bond as a group. Sweet Sally was the last female to interview and she seemed nice, normal, and also a go until she realized that they were gay and wanted to invite them to her church- where they reform homosexuals! Whatever! Shane showed her to the door. Finally Mark arrived with his video camera and won them over.

Who ended up being the new roommate for Shane and Jenny?
Mark & Marc. Eric Lively played wanna be documentarian Mark. He won the girls over with his ability to cough up the money they needed to stay in Tim's rent house. He moved into the guest cottage right away with help of one his friends.

While Tina and Joyce take inventory of the house in Bette's absence they comment on Palm trees and a statue flown in from _____.
Nepal. Tina told Joyce that they waited seven months for it to arrive.

Tina is working on a grant proposal. What is it for?
Campaign For Quality Education. This is the proposal that will win over Helena Peabody and cause Bette and the CAC to lose their annual Peabody funding. I threw in the free speech one, but I think we covered that one here in America a few years back.

During her group seminar with Benjamin Bradshaw, Kit reveals her inner animal is a(n) ______.
Alley cat. Mr. Bradshaw (Charles S. Dutton) called on two men before Kit, and they named the ferret and the ostrich. He explained how our inner animal was a reflection of our negative self image. Then, he turned it around to show the strengths of each animal. I love Charles Dutton, but I am still recovering from his character in "Gothika".

Shane was able to calm an irritating and irrational actress on the set where she was working. Though Shane made a rude remark about the set manager/director Veronica Bloom, she was able to get the actress, _______ , back on track and score a better job offer later that day.
Alyssa Nero. Veronica was impressed with Shane's ability to talk to people and offered her the job as her assistant. It was unclear if Shane accepted the job or not. Camryn Manheim played the no-nonsense Veronica.

Jenny and Carmen both love ________.
Brigitte Bardot. Carmen commented on the movie collection, thinking it was Shane's. Shane informed her it was Jenny's collection.

Where was Alice when Dana kissed her?
Amusement park. Tonya set Alice up on a date with a man, and she and Dana accompanied them to an amusement park. Alice did seem to like her date, but when the two were alone Dana kissed her again. That makes Dana's front door, a bathroom, and now an amusement park. There may have been one other in there somewhere as well.

Which of these was NOT one of the titles of Mark's documentaries?
Grey Gardens. "Grey Gardens" was the one he and Jenny had both seen, supposedly about a couple of woman that were not completely sane. It is a real film and made in 1975. Mark offered the other three titles when Jenny asked what the names of his movies were. His current job was sending movies straight to video, not cherished documentaries, but low budget flicks that paid the bills.
