Fun Trivia: M : Metallica Lyrics

Special Sub-Topic: Metallica: Metal Militia!

What song is this lyric from: "Blood feeds the war machine"?

No Remorse. This track is from "Kill em' All". This song was Metallica's first anti-war song. It is about people who go off to war just for the sake of killing, guiltless and numb to the pain of their victims.

What song is this lyric from: "Here I go, playing the star again"?
Turn the Page. Off of "Garage, Inc.". Originally sung by Bob Seger. This is about the other side of a band's life on tour. The deafening silence after the audience leaves, the loneliness of hotel rooms and the stares in restaurants.

What song is this lyric from: "Black heart scarring darker still, yes she'll be there when I'm gone"?
The Unforgiven II. Off of "Reload". The song leans on Metallica's other song "The Unforgiven".

What song is this lyric from: "Wakened by the horrid scream, freed from the frightening dream"?
Ride the Lightning. Off of the album "Ride the Lightning" (obviously). The lyrics of the song are written from the perspective of someone who is facing death by electrocution although he didn't commit the crime. (Probably my favorite song)

What song is this lyric from: "There's much more to life than what you see"?
My Friend of Misery. Off of "Metallica" (the Black Album). It describes an outsider view of someone reveling in self-pity and maintaining a pessimistic view of the entire world.

What song is this lyric from: "Never happy ending on these dark sets"?
Damage, Inc.. Off of "Master of Puppets". It is about senseless violence and destruction.

What song is this lyric from: "Shattered goal fills his soul with a ruthless cry"?
For Whom the Bell Tolls. Off of "Ride the Lightning". This song is based on the Ernest Hemmingway novel "For Whom the Bell Tolls", and it is about 5 soldiers left to defend a hill who are killed in an airstrike.

What song is this lyric from: "I'm gonna jump the gun, oh I'm gonna hit and run"?
Too Late, Too Late. Off of "Garage Days Re-Revisited" but was later put on "Garage, Inc.".

What song is this lyric from: "Circle of destruction, hammer comes crushing"?
Battery. Off of "Master of Puppets". The song is about a battery, in the sense of beating each other up.

What song is this lyric from: "Cannot the kingdom of salvation take me home"?
To Live is to Die. Off of "...And Justice For All". The only lyrics in this song are a poem written by Cliff that James recites.
