    Tripp and Derek Spence. Tripp Spence is the attorney who is the father of Derek Spence. Derek is 12 when the movie starts, but turns 13 later in the movie. Derek's mother, Tripp's wife, passed away earlier in their lives, and isn't in the movie. Tripp is charged with tax fraud, and he decides to run. He and Derek move from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Las Vegas, Nevada. They also change their names. Tripp becomes Glenn Ryan, and Derek becomes Michael Jacob Ryan, or Mickey.

The lawyer's first name isn't what he goes by. He goes by another name, most likely his middle name. What is the attorney's first initial?
    J. Tripp Spence's real first name is never revealed in this movie, however, his first initial is on the door of his lawyer's office. There, we see, LAW OFFICE OF J. TRIPP SPENCE.

What is the lawyer's secretary's name?
    Peggy. Brian Seeger, the IRS investigator, talks to Tripp during one of Tripp's baseball practices. In their conversation, Seeger mentions that he talked to Spence's secretary, Peggy. Peggy is a person who is loyal until the heat is on her. She defends Spence by telling Seeger that he isn't in his office. It's the fifth inning, and the Moose are up 4-0 on the Condors, and Mickey hits the second pitch of his at-bat off of the scoreboard in left field for a solo home run to put the Moose up 5-0.

Senator Calros Martinez of California is a Republican.
    f. Senator Carlos Martinez of Florida is a Republican. Martinez is not from California. We see this when the Sport Center broadcast the team is watching, shows Senator Martinez, and there we see he is a Republican from Florida.

The IRS chairman is Grham Munson. Grham is not his first name. What is his first initial?
    F. Brian Seeger informs Munson about Derek Spence. Before we see Munson and Seeger, it shows the door to Munson's office, which reads: F. GRHAM MUNSON.

How long is the attorney sentenced to prison for tax fraud?
    One year. Before the credits begin rolling on the screen, we see the phrase: ONE YEAR LATER. As this phrase fades out, we see Tripp Spence walking out of the prison to see Derek, two friends from his team, and Patty Sinclair, the school secratary, who is also Tripp's new girlfriend.
