What does CONEX stand for?

    Container Express. CONEX's are used mainly to store military items and for loading military equipment for shipment overseas or stateside for deployments.

What does HMMWV stand for?
    High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle. The HMMWV is the backbone of the Army. Usually nicknamed the Hummer.

What does UCOFT stand for?
    Unit Conduct of Fire Trainer. The UCOFT is used for armor personnel to train up on fire commands, target acquisition and proper fire techniques. All tank crews must qualify in the UCOFT before being allowed to fire live rounds.

What is the common nickname the U.S. uses for the RPG?
    Rocket Propelled Grenade. The RPG is a favorite weapon of choice for most third world countries as it's inexpensive. RPG actually stands for Anti Tank Rocket in Russian.

What does MWR stand for?
    Morale Welfare and Recreation. MWR is set up mainly for deployed soldiers to play pool, check e-mail and talk to loved ones back home.

What does AAR stand for?
    After Action Review. AARs are conducted after every real world or training event to establish what happened, what went wrong and what should be sustained.

The acronym BCT stands for what?
    Brigade Combat Team. The BCT is a term used for Brigade size elements that are used as a main fighting force.

What does COLT stand for in reference to Artillery terms?
    Combat Observation Lasing Team. The COLT team works in conjunction with artillery and naval gunfire to ensure the target is destroyed.

What does EFMB stand for?
    Expert Field Medical Badge. The EFMB badge is awarded to medics who complete a rigorous course consisting of many different tasks.

LFX is an acronym that stands for what?
    Live Fire Exercise. LFXs are used to maintain and sustain proficiency in an individual's job.

What does MOPP stand for?
    Mission-Oriented Protective Posture. MOPP is a term used for equipment put on during chemical attacks. There are 5 levels of MOPP, MOPP 0 through MOPP 4. MOPP 4 consists of having all gear on including chemical gloves, boots, gas mask and trousers and shirt.

What does PMI stand for?
    Preliminary Marksmanship Instruction. PMI is conducted prior to any small arms fire to ensure soldiers are proficient in firing their assigned weapons.

What does BOS stand for?
    Battlefield Operating Systems. The BOS consists of seven groups of systems that are related by battlefield use or function. The seven groups are; intelligence, maneuver, fire support, air defense, mobility/countermobility/survivability, combat service support and command and control.

What does METL stand for?
    Mission Essential Task List. METL is a compilation of collective tasks which an organization must be proficient in to accomplish an appropriate portion of its wartime mission.

The acronym NCO stands for what?
    Non-Commissioned Officer. The NCOs are the backbone of the Army. They lead and conduct most military training and are responsible for the actions and success/failures of their soldiers.
