    Galdhoepiggen. Galdhoepiggen is 2469 meters high. It is also the highest mountain in northern Europe. It was first climbed in 1850; the climber is unknown. However during the winter, Glittertind may be higher due to its glacier on the top, but the glacier is not counted when measuring the height.

    Toensberg. Toensberg was founded around 870 AD. Around the city can be found many ruins of old buildings, including churches and monasteries from the 13th century.

At the 1994 winter Olympics in Lillehammer, which city hosted the figure skating competition?
    Hamar. Hamar also hosted the speed skating competition. After the Olympics the arena was used as the home arena for one of the best hockey teams in Norway, the Storhamar Dragons.

What is the name of the longest river in Norway?
    Glomma. The Glomma is 589 km long. The river starts at a height of 860 meters above sea level and ends at 0 meters above sea level where it flows out into the ocean near the city of Fredrikstad.

What is the name of the largest glacier in Norway?
    Jostedalsbreen. The Jostedalsbreen glacier is 815 square kilometers large. The glacier is located in the Jostedalglacier national park, where it covers half of the park.

What is Norway's and the world's northernmost city?
    Hammerfest. The city was razed to the ground by the Germans in 1945. Hammerfest was the first Norwegian city to get electric street lights in 1890. Many still believe that Nordkapp is the northernmost city, but Nordkapp isn't a city, just the northernmost point of the Norwegian mainland.

    Hinnoey. The island is 2198 square kilometers large. It has many mountains; the highest is Moeysalen, it is 1262 meters high.

Which Norwegian city was previously called Nidaros?
    Trondheim. The name was at first Trondheim, then in 1930 it was changed to Nidaros. After many protests, it was changed back to Trondheim in 1931.

From which Norwegian city did the world famous composer Edward Grieg come?
    Bergen. Grieg was born in 1843 and died in 1907. Bergen is known to be the "rainiest" city in Norway, so if you want to visit Bergen, be sure to bring an umbrella. (It is worth a visit.)

What is the name of the deepest lake in Norway?
    Hornindalsvatn. It is 514 meters deep, and is also the deepest lake in the whole of Europe. 514 m is the deepest measured depth; it may be deeper.
