    Frank Forde. They were all interim Prime Ministers but Frank Forde was only in for eight days after the death of John Curtin in 1945, and the Labor Party election of Ben Chifley for the position.     Robert Menzies. The Liberal Party in Australia is the conservative side of Australian Politics, similar to the American Republicans or the British Conservatives. The main conservative party before the creation of the Liberal Party was the United Australia Party.

    John Watson. John Watson was born John Tanck in 1867 in Valparaiso, Chile. He later took the surname of his step-father George Watson. Joseph Cook was born in 1860 in Staffordshire, England, George Reid in 1845 in Renfrewshire, Scotland and Andrew Fisher in 1862 in Ayrshire, Scotland.

    Stanley Bruce. Stanley Bruce was High Commissioner from 1933 to 1946. In 1947 he was created Viscount Bruce of Melbourne, the first viscountcy given to an Australian. The title died with him as he did not have any children.

Of these Prime Ministers which one did NOT die in office?
    Ben Chifley. Ben Chifley lost office in 1949 to Robert Menzies and only lived another two years. Joseph Lyons died in 1939 and John Curtin in 1945. Harold Holt was presumed drowned after he went missing while swimming at Portsea in Victoria.
