Welcome to Question 1! Which book is CHRONOLOGICALLY first (meaning the story comes first timewise in the plot)? Some "Redwall" books are written with a framing device - someone is telling the story of what happened, years later. In this question we are asking about the order of the actual events of the story, not of the narrator.

Lord Brocktree. "Lord Brocktree," the first chronological part of the series, is about, well, Lord Brocktree, and his quest to the west to Salamandastron. "Martin the Warrior" tells about (you guessed it) Martin the Warrior, one of the founders of Redwall Abbey. "Redwall" describes Matthias the Warrior and his connection to Martin, the now legendary hero. "Loamhedge" is in the way distant future, about a young crippled hare maiden and a valiant quest.

Matthias' son is named Martin.

F. Mattimeo is the name of his son; he has a book of the same name.

Asmodeus is the name of a poisonous snake in "Mossflower," and is the main villain.

F. Asmodeus the Snake is in "Redwall", the novel. He holds Martin's Sword for a long time, after the Sparra took it from Redwall and lost it to him. In "Mossflower", the main villain is a wildcat.

What does Abbess Tansy do with the Tears of All Oceans in "The Pearls of Lutra?"

She recognizes them as evil and throws them out to sea forever.. Abbess Tansy sees the Pearls as the cause of warfare and evil and throws them out to sea so that they can never corrupt anyone ever again.

Hares. "The Long Patrol" is about hares, not rabbits.
