    Ireland. Harris was born in Limerick on October 1, 1930. His full name was Richard St. John Harris and he was born into a farming family. His brother, Dermot, died of a heart attack in 1986.

Most younger audiences know him as Professor Dumbledore from the "Harry Potter" movies. He died before all the films were completed and had to be replaced. What was his last movie in the series?
    "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" (2002). He succumbed to Hodgkin's Disease in October of 2002. He took on the role as Harry's mentor after his granddaughter, aged eleven, said she would never speak to him if he didn't.

With which of these famous action stars did Harris co-star?
    All of them (Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Sean Bean). He first starred with Connery, the original Bond in "The Molly Mcguires" (1970) and later in "Robin and Marian" (1976). Moore, the second Bond was in the "The Wild Geese" (1978) with Harris. He starred with Bean - from the "Sharpe" series (1993) and "The Lord Of The Rings" (2001) -in both "The Field" (1990) and "Patriot Games" (1992).

He won a Golden Globe and a Cannes International Film Festival award for Best Actor for which two movies?
    "This Sporting Life" (1963) and "Camelot " (1967). He won the Golden Globe for "Camelot" and the Cannes award for "This Sporting Life". Although he was nominated for an Oscar (for "This Sporting Life" and "The Field"), he didn't win.

What sport was Harris very successful in until a bout with tuberculosis ended his career in that sport?
    Rugby Union. He was remembered for his superb tackling. He played for the Limerick City team. Later he said he wanted to play for the Championship Cup with the Munster team. One of his early roles was as a rugby player in "This Sporting Life" (1963).

    William the Conquerer. He played King Arthur in "Camelot" (1967), Oliver Cromwell in "Cromwell" (1970) and King Richard the Lionheart in "Robin and Marian" (1976). He also played Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius in "Gladiator" (2000).

Known for his movie role in "Camelot" (1967), he also starred in the 1980 stage production that returned to Broadway. What actor did he replace in 1980?
    Richard Burton. Good friends, and drinking buddies, with Connery, O'Toole and Burton, he took over when Burton had bursitis. He played the legendary King Arthur opposite Vanessa Redgrave. The film was panned, but his role, as well as his stage portrayal was lauded.

He starred as what Biblical character on TV?
    Abraham. It was in 1994. Turner Films did a series of Biblical portrayals in made for TV movies. "Abraham" portrayed the father of the Hebrew race. Richard Harris also starred as Cain in John Huston's "The Bible" (1966).

While Harris has several of his own albums, how many movie soundtracks did he appear on?
    3. Of course he sang on the soundtrack to "Camelot" (1967), but also he sang "Here In My Heart" from "This Sporting Life" (1963) and wrote and sang "The Last Castle", from "Echoes of a Summer"(1976).

What Shakespeare play was the first play he ever saw, and got him hooked on acting?
    Henry IV. He was in his early 20s when he saw it. He always wanted to play the role of Hamlet, but never did. His son, Jared, did with Harris playing Hamlet's ghostly father in 2001. After seeing "Henry IV", he began studying at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. The rest is history.
