    India and Bangladesh. The Ganges River begins in the Himalayas and empties into the Bay of Bengal, travelling a distance of 1,560 miles.

The Huang He (or Yellow River) is the second longest river in China. What is the exact length of this river?
    3,395 miles. The Huang He begins in China's Qinghai Province and ends in the Bo Hai.

The Mekong River of Southeast Asia empties into which body of water?
    South China Sea. The basin of the Mekong is an important agricultural area, with rice as the main crop. The Mekong begins in the Chinese province of Tibet.

What is the largest river in southwest Asia?
    Euphrates. The length of the Euphrates is 2,700 km. The Tigris and Euphrates created a fertile area of land. This area was once known as Mesopotamia.

In what current day country does the Salween River begin?
    China. The Salween River flows a total length of 2,800 km. The Salween empties into the Gulf of Martaban at the port of Moulmein

The Irrawaddy River flows through only one country. What is this country?
    Myanmar. The Irrawaddy River flows generally south for 2,100 km through Myanmar. It empties into the Andaman Sea.

The Brahmaputra River flows through China, India, and Bangladesh. How long is this river?
    1,800 miles. Brahmaputra means "son of Brahma" in Sanskrit. The Brahmaputra eventually empties into the Bay of Bengal.

Mohenjo-Daro and Harappā were ancient cities in the valley of what river?
    Indus River. The Indus River flows through China, India, and Pakistan.

The Atrek River of Iran and Turkmenistan is how long?
    670 km. The Atrek forms part of the border between Iran and Turkmenistan. The Atrek is a tributary of the Caspian Sea on its Asian side, and its source is a spring in the mountains northwest of Mashhad called Kora Kazan, or "Black Cauldron."
