Special Sub-Topic: RoC Undead Campaign 9 for 10

Prince Arthas is no longer a Paladin, but a new Undead hero known as what?

Death Knight. The Warden is a Night Elf hero, and the other two can fight for any race, and be hired at a tavern. The Death Knight is actually very similar to the Paladin. The Paladin has the spell Holy Light which can heal friendly living units and damage enemy undead units, while the Death Knight has the spell Death Coil, which can heal friendly undead units while harming enemy living units. They both have an aura, and they both have a spell that helps preserve themselves (the Paladin can become invincible for a short period of time while the Death Knight can sacrifice a unit to heal his own hit points). Their ultimate spells are also similar. The Paladin can revive up to six friendly corpses while the Death Knight can animate any corpses on the ground under his will.

Which of the following is NOT a Banshee ability?
Raise Dead. Raise Dead is actually a Necromancer ability. It is the Necromancer’s first ability and can be set to autocast. The Necromancer can target a corpse and, from it, raise two skeleton warriors. For the Banshee abilities, Curse causes the affected unit to miss more often. Anti-Magic shell can prevent up to 300 spell damage for a friendly unit. The Banshee’s true power, though, is the ability to possess other units. You lose your banshee in the process, but you gain any unit you don’t already control. This is convenient when you’re being attacked by many heavy units. You can also take over other builder units (villager, peon, or a wisp) to start creating a new base of a different race under your control.

What is used to level up heroes?
Experience. Experience is used in many RPGs to level up characters. Hit points indicate how much damage a unit can take before dying (health), and mana is used to cast spells. Both regenerate over time. Gold is used to buy almost everything in the game. You can buy tomes of experience in some games to buy experience for your hero (and via that, levels).

What is the Undead's heavy melee unit?
Abomination. Abominations are large mounds of flesh sewn together from various different creatures. They wield large butcher knives and hooks. They are comparable to the Orc’s Tauren, or the Night Elves’ Mountain Giants.

In chapter seven, the undead forces are charged with killing Antonidas in his fortress city. Which city is this?
Dalaran. The Undead forces assaulted Dalaran to retrieve Medivh’s Spellbook in order to summon Archimonde. Dalaran was a wizard’s city, and they had created auras that would harm any Undead units within the auras. Arthas had to assault the city and kill the wizards who were maintaining the auras, ending with Antonidas. Banshees can come in handy here. When they possess an enemy unit it will not count as an undead unit, and it will not be harmed by the auras. Andorhal was the grain distribution centre for northern Lordearon. The Undead were using it to transport their disease across the land. Arthas killed Kel’Thuzad here when he was still human, but came back to reclaim Kel’Thuzad’s remains to reanimate him. He then razed the town and occupied it with his forces as he sought out and killed his one-time friend and mentor, Uther Lightbringer. Hearthglen was a small town that Arthas helped defend, with Jaina, against the Scourge when he was still human. Ogrimmar was the city Thrall built in the barrens of Kalimdor for the Orcish horde. It’s the town area for Act I of the Founding of Durotar campaign in “The Frozen Throne” expansion set.

In the Undead campaign, Kul’Thuzad came back from the dead as what kind of hero?
Lich. The Lich are undead beings that are fond of cold attacks. Their abilities include Frost Nova, Frost Armor, and Dark Ritual. Frost Nova is used by targeting an enemy. It will be dealt damage and slowed, as well as other units near it. Frost Armor adds armor to a friendly unit, and melee units attacking it will be slowed. Dark Ritual involves sacrificing a unit to heal the Lich (similar to the Death Knight’s Death Pact). The Crypt Lord and the Shadow Hunter are the new heroes for the Undead and Orcs respectively. They’re introduced in “The Frozen Throne”. The Pit Lord is a neutral hero that can be hired at a tavern. Mannoroth, the demon responsible for enslaving the Orcish horde to the will of the Burning Legion, was a Pit Lord.

In chapter six, you need to gain access to demonic gates, but they’re defended by which race?
Orcs. Your goal in the mission was to reach the Demon Gates to communicate with Archimonde for instructions. There are Orc bases all around your base, which is in the centre of the map, and quite a few heroes to deal with. You do not actually need to fight the Orcs, and the longer the game is drawn out, the harder it can be.

What is the name of the undead creatures that reside outside of the Lich King’s control?
Revenants. Revenants are tall creatures that look similar to a Lich. They are normally creeps that you can destroy for items and experience. They come in a variety of styles, including lightning and frost.

What is Kel’Thuzad’s ultimate (lv. 6) spell?
Death and Decay. Death and Decay can do a lot of damage due to its nature of sapping a percentage of a unit’s hit points instead of dealing direct damage. This can be used to destroy any unit, including buildings, as it deals 4% of a units base hit points (total hit points) per second, and lasts for 35 seconds (140% total damage dealt if used for the full duration). Animate Dead is the Death Knight’s ultimate spell. Inferno is that of the Dreadlord, and Locust Swarm is the ultimate of the Crypt Lord.

What is the name of this frightening Undead hero?
Dreadlord. Dreadlords are not actually undead. They are demons that control the Scourge and serve Archimonde. Their spells are particularly nasty. They can cast a wave of bats to in a direction to damage any enemy that’s in the way. They can put a unit to sleep, rendering it useless for a limited time. They also have Vamperic Aura, which causes all nearby friendly melee units to have the lifesteal ability. The Dreadlord’s ultimate is Inferno, for which a large meteor is called down on a location to deal damage to any units caught under it. Then, from the impact point, an Infernal is born, a large, fiery demon with heavy armor and attack power.
