    y. Several squadrons of the Regia Aeronautica based in Belgium took part in perhaps as many as 150 bombing raids on England during the Battle of Britain beginning in October 1940.

    The serial number began with A52. During the war DH Australia produced 212 Mosquitos for the Royal Australian Air Force.

How many Fokker D. XXIs did the Dutch airforce have in May 1940?
    28. This type of plane was inferior to the most of the planes of the Luftwaffe, but was responsible for shooting down 37 Junkers 52 transport planes on 10 May 1940, then the surviving Dutch pilots flew to England to join the RAF.

What was the first nickname of the Hawker Hurricane ?
    Fury Monoplane. The first prototype of the Hurricane was given this nickname because the body of the plane looked very much like that of the Hawker Fury I , which was succeeded by the Hurricane.

    1938. The first jet flew in July 1942 when it launched itself with a rocket engine.

What was the nickname of the Messcherschmitt Me163?
    Komet. It had this nickname because it was the fastest fighter of that era. However it was unstable and required an experienced pilot. The Hitler-Jugend wouldn't survived a flight with this plane. It attacked Allied bomber formations with its powerful 20mm cannon.

What kind of plane was responsible for killing Admiral Yamamoto in the summer of 1943?
    P-38 Lightning. The P-38s took off at Guadalcanal and by the use of extra fuel tanks flew 780 km further to kill Yamamoto.

How many Belgian pilots fought in the Battle of Britain ?
    29. Of the 29 Belgian pilots that fought alongside the British, 7 were killed in action. From July 1942 all Belgian pilots in Britain were integrated in the RAF Volunteer Reserve.

How many Belgian fighter squadrons were avaible to the RAF on D-Day ?
    3. There were only two Belgian squadrons, namely the 349 squadron (flying Spitfires) and the 350 fighter squadron. There were also Belgian crews in Bomber Command. The 349 squadron was created in November, 1942. The 350 squadron was created on February 11, 1942 at Northolt. Besides those two there was also the 609 squadron which flew with Typhoons.

Vought was one of the companies that made the F4U Corsair. Name ONE of the two others.
    Goodyear & Brewster. Goodyear made 4006 F4U's who were marked as FG-1 and the 735 made by Brewster were marked as F3A-1.
