    Lome Fa'atau. Hurricanes winger Lome Fa'atau scored 10 tries in 2006, one more than Force winger Scott Staniforth and Brumbies centre Stirling Mortlock. Chiefs winger Sitiveni Sivivatu scored 7 tries.

Which team finished last in the 2006 Super 14 season?
    Force. It wasn't a great debut year for the Force, who finished their first season in 14th and last position. Notable results were 2 draws against the Cats, and the champions the Crusaders, and their only victory was against the Cheetahs.

    Crusaders. The Crusaders won the first Super 14 title against the Hurricanes 19-12 in dense fog at Jade Stadium, Christchurch. The Crusaders also won 5 of the 10 Super 12 finals, 1996 to 2005, before the addition of the Force and the Cheetahs.
