Fun Trivia: A : Absolutely Fabulous

Special Sub-Topic: Sweetie Darling

In the first episode called "Fashion", Eddie calls Shikani to channel her a colour for the day. What colour is channeled?

Green. Eddie is having numerous crises about the fashion show that she is putting on. Just before she leaves the house, she gets Shikani to channel her a colour for the day. Saffy finds it highly amusing until Eddie points out that it is related to who she was in a previous life.

In the episode "Fat", we learn what Eddie's nickname was during the sixties. What was it?
The Shredder & shredder. Penny Casper, also known as "The Stick" was coming to visit Eddie to try and sell her some things for her shop. Patsy revealed that Eddie was known as the Shredder because she would eat great quantities of tissue. Malcolm added that she could go through whole toilet rolls.

In the episode "Fat", Eddie refers to Bubble, her PA, as a bookmark.
    t. Bubble is having trouble remembering Penny Casper's name so in an attempt to induce it from her, Eddie tells Bubble that she is a little bookmark and she was only hired because she makes Eddie look better. This appears to do the trick and Eddie faints in shock.

"France" sees Eddie and Patsy go to France for a short break. Before she leaves, Eddie orders Bubble to cancel a large number of appointments. Which one appointment did Eddie ask Bubble to reschedule?
Rebirthing. In one of the most memorable speeches of the series, Eddie asks Bubble to remember one thing - "Cancel my aromatherapy, my psychotherapy and reflexology, my osteopath, my homeopath and my naturopath, my crystal reading, my shiatsu, my organic hairdresser... and see if I can be rebirthed next Tuesday afternoon."

Whilst in France, what food does Eddie describe as being inedible at the best of times?
French Toast. Eddie and Patsy are supposed to be staying up at a chateau, but they misread the instructions and stay in a farm house instead. Naturally there are no provisions inside the house apart from a few dried up pieces of pasta and half a packet of French toast.

Eddie gets an isolation tank in the episode called "Iso-Tank". Eddie hallucinates about Saffy's friends in the kitchen who are working on their DNA project. Which of Saffy's friends does not really exist?
Danny & Dan & Daniel. During the fantasy, Eddie imagines that Saffy and friends are working in the kitchen on their project. Danny introduces himself to Eddie and Patsy and it's obvious they like him as he is nothing like the rest of the group. When Eddie and Patsy come into the kitchen for real, Eddie asks if Danny is there yet. Saffy doesn't know who she is talking about and Eddie replies that she thought that bit was too good to be true.

Eddie turns 40 in "Birthday". As she is depressed about this event, she wants to make everyone else feel as miserable as her and causes Justin to storm out of the house.
    f. Justin's boyfriend Oliver is the one who storms out although when it's revealed that Eddie has been fiddling both her ex-husbands into paying maintenance, he storms upstairs and decorates her bed with an overflowing ashtray.

One of Eddie's birthday presents is a karaoke machine. She and Patsy get up on the coffee table and begin to mangle some classic numbers. There is a brief close-up of Eddie's platform shoes - what colour are they?
Silver. Eddie has a curious sense of fashion often wearing totally outrageous clothes or attire that is obviously several sizes too small. After spending most of the day moping about the house in the clothes that she wore in bed, Eddie dolls herself up and hits the birthday party with a vengeance wearing a typically lurid outfit including silver platforms.

In the episode "Magazine", we see Patsy's office for the first time. What magazine is she the fashion director for?
Ella. Although Patsy does end up at "HQ" magazine in New York, she is confirmed as working at "Ella" magazine by Dawn French's character on breakfast television. Patsy only got the job at "Ella" because she slept with the publisher.

Patsy waxing about morning television: "Good morning television; if they could market that in pill form ____ would be plunged into a recession."
Switzerland. Patsy's editor volunteers her to fill in on a breakfast television programme to give two women a make-over. Although hesitant at first, Patsy wants to use the opportunity to break out into television presenting. What she doesn't count on is a bout of stage fright.
