Fun Trivia: R : Rodda, Emily

Special Sub-Topic: Teen Power Inc: "Poison Pen"

Which of the Poison Pen victims has contact lenses?

Mrs Drisk-Haskell. In the end, Elmo finds a connection between the victims. They all go to the same optometrist. Though, Elmo needs to check with Mrs Drisk-Haskell if she wears contact lenses (and he was right). Mrs Adair wears tortoiseshell glasses, Sam Frean wears reading glasses and Mrs Flower wears cat's eye glasses.

Who helped the criminals that robbed the bank where Liz's mum worked?
Mr Richardson. After the bank was robbed the police said that the robbers must have had inside help. It was a very good plan of Mr Richardson's. Since he was in charge of the bank he wasn't suspected. If it hadn't been for Elmo and Poison Pen, he wouldn't have been captured.

Who arrested Mr Richardson at Ms. Salamandi's office?
Greta Vortek. When Mr Richardson found out from Elmo that Ms Salamandi's assistant Annette Nudsorth wrote the poison pen notes he decided to pay a little visit to her. The truth was he had been scared that his secret about helping criminals rob his own bank would leak and everyone would find out. He almost killed her, had it not been for Elmo's thinking and Constable Greta Vortek.

Where was Mrs Drisk-Haskell's ring found?
The Palace. Mrs Drisk-Haskell had to "let Mrs Flower go." She thought Mrs Flower had stolen her ring. Apparently someone had found it in a washbasin at The Palace. Mrs Drisk-Haskell begged Mrs Flower to come back. Mrs Flower agreed and that was the end of that job.

What did Sam Frean do that made him feel guilty?
He put mutton into lamb mince. Sam Frean is usually "on top of the world" (in Elmo's terms). The gang notices that he's been angry and upset and find out that he's been sent Poison Pen letters. Apparently, last year he put mutton in the lamb mince because times were hard and the mutton was cheap. The mutton added flavour and he sold more lamb mince than ever. He received two Poison Pen letters: THE EYE KNOWS ALL ABOUT YOU, YOU STUPID, GREEDY JERK. SOON EVERYONE WILL. SERVES YOU RIGHT. YOU CAN FOOL MOST PEOPLE BUT NOT ME. SOON I WILL BE SPREADING THE WORD. WAIT FOR IT.

What street is Ms Salamandi's office located on?
Craigend Road. Ms Salamandi's patients include Elmo, Mr Richardson, Mrs Drisk-Haskell, Mrs Flower, Sam Frean, Mrs Adair and Richelle. Her secretary is Annette Nudsworth who is Poison Pen. "Craigend" (which is where Liz's friend, Pearl Plummer lives) is also on Craigend Road.

At the end of the book, who said "Well done, team. I think I might have one last piece of cake to celebrate?"
Tom. This figures, as Tom loves to eat. He says this just as Elmo has finished explaining how he solved the mystery of Poison Pen and the mystery of the bank robbery.

What is Mrs Drisk-Haskell's husband's full name?
Reginald Drisk-Haskell. Mrs Drisk-Haskell is one of Poison Pen's victims. Reg is involved with almost all the Teen Power Inc's members. Sunny is known as the "doctor's little girl", but that's not really involved with Reg. Nick isn't mentioned, Elmo's granda was friends with Reg, Reg almost bought a house from Free and Sommers (where Liz' father worked). Mrs Drisk-Haskell said that Reg would have thought Richelle a real beauty and that she was pleased that Brian was Tom's father (that was until Tom told her that Brian was his stepfather) because Reg said that teachers were the backbone of society.

Liz got bones for her dog Crystal.
    F. Trick question. Liz' dog is named Christo. She did buy bones for Christo from Sam Frean, the butcher. He is a Poison Pen victim and has reading glasses.

Who said Mr Richardson was Mr Confident?
Liz' Mum. Although Liz introduced it to the gang, she said that's what her mother called him. Mr Richardson is in charge of the bank where Liz' mum works. When the rest of the gang see Mr Richardson, Liz recognises him straight away and he her. That's the end of my quiz. Hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to send corrections or compliments!
