Special Sub-Topic: Terrifying the Kids
Where does most of the movie take place?
Isla Nublar. This island is where Jurassic Park is located. All of the action takes place there too.
Approximately how far into the movie does the first person die?
5 minutes. When they are importing one of the dinosaurs, which I think is a Velociraptor, one of the workers falls and is dragged into its cage.
What does Dennis Nedry use to store the items he stole?
A can of shaving cream. Dennis is able to store these items in a contraption that was built into the shaving cream to hide them. Unfortunately for him, a Dilophosaurus blinds and paralyzes Dennis before he is killed. In the book he can feel his own guts spilling out. It is also surprising to see that Dennis had no clue as to what dinosaur was attacking him.
In the mini-movie that is seen in "Jurassic Park", what substances are the mosquitos caught in that InGen finds?
tree sap. The mosquitos just fly right up to the dinosuars and suck their blood. Some got caught in the sap for the InGen people to find, millions of years later.
What company made Jurassic Park?
InGen. You can see the logo on the helicopters. InGen did all of the research and cloning on the dinosaurs.
In the book, Dr. Grant, Tim Murphy and Lex Murphy are attacked by Pteradactyls that InGen ditched because of their aggressiveness. Does this happen in the movie?
n. Sadly, this part is left out of the movie. The book has one of the Pteradactyls steal the glove from one of the Murphy kids and causes problem about whether to retreive the mitt, or to run away and forget the mitt.
How many volts are in the fences around Jurassic Park?
10,000. When Tim is stuck on one of these fences, the power goes back on and he is shocked, blown backwards, and almost dies.
In the movie, does anyone get sneezed on by another person?
n. Lex Murphy, when about to pet a Brachiosaurus, is sneezed on by the dinosaur instead of being able to pet it. Tim then says that she'll never try anything new again because of the incident. A dinosaur isn't a person, so the answer to this question couldn't be a 'yes'.
What living threat resides in Jurassic Park, other than the dinosars, that InGen is aware of?
Poisonous plants. There are poisonous plants placed all over the place just because they look pretty.
What part of Africa are the sex-changing frogs from?
West Africa. In the movie that features Mr. DNA as the nararrator, it is mentioned that InGen fills in the missing parts of the dinosaur DNA with amphibian DNA. It is soon figured out that the DNA must be from these frogs.
